Next year I'd like to switch it up from winter bow and use a Muzzy. Still waiting on my FID card to come in, but in the meantime would like to here of any recommendations...

TC, CVA, Knight??? etc... Good or bad about them.

Hard to beat the T/C Triumph, just as accurate as my Omega but 10x easier to clean. The Triumph has a larger trigger guard making it easier to operate with gloves on and the break open feature makes it easier to prime too. After 10 shots, the breech plug is still pretty clean, very little blow back.

Easier cleaning and larger trigger guard over the Omega are 2 points I will remember to consider.

I now use a CVA Kodiak. I like it. Was very happy that both 240xtp and 295powerbelt had same point of impact at 100 yards. about 1.5" groups with a 4x scope.

One thing to remember, 100 grains powder is plenty for any thick forest shooting. 150 grains only add about 10% velocity for 50% more powder.

If you can locate one, which is not easy, they are most popular in the western states I would recommand a Markesbery. I own a stainless wood stocked Black Bear, haven't hunted with it in years but take it to the range occasionally. They are what I call a semi-custom. I have some friends that own T/C Encore's and when the two are handled side by side they make the T/C look and feel low end, their words not mine and the Encore is about as good as it gets with modern MZ's.

Not considered an in-line and easily capable of switching between 209 primers, SRP's, and both #11 and musket caps they are legal in states that don't allow in-lines and or 209 priming systems.

I have a CVA Kodiak as well and like it a lot. I also get 1" groups at 100 yards from bench rest. 100 grains of pyrodex pellets, 295 gr powerbelt.

I have the CVA 50 cal. Pro and the TC triumph 50cal. I loved my cva because it was cheap and I didn't know any better. Now The triumph is my baby. Go feel them for yourself. The triumph is balanced nicely and shoulders easy.
