Hey Full Choke,

I just checked out your site, real nice! I have never goose hunted before but it is something I am very interested in trying out. I was wondering a couple of things though... Is it possible to specifically request a pit blind hunt? I have a bad back and laying on it for hours in a lay out blind could be painful for me. Also, once the geese are down, do you also offer field dressing/plucking the birds? or at the very least some kind of tutorial for a novice? Thanks!!

Sure is, I have a group going out this week w/ a fellow dealing w/ back problems. We will be shooting from a deep, narrow (but dry) creek bed about 15yards from the corn field where the decoys will be set. We plan to have the customer chillin in a sling chair while we call&flag. We'll get'em up when the action starts!

The state of NJ does not condone eating geese killed in this state. Most geese killed are resident's and spend most their time eating grass coverd in pestacides & swiming ponds pumped w/ chemicals to keep algy down. Some find it unsportsmen like not to eat what you kill. If the state allows me to hunt them, but says i shouldn't eat'em, they must be ok w/ it. Also, we see alot of farmers who deal w/ alot of hardship due to crop damage from geese.
Geese do make good coyote bait!

I never thought about that but it makes alot of sense!

while i agree that i dont find goose very appetizing, nowhere in the compendium does it say that geese shouldnt be eaten. it does however have a law against wanton waste.

and its not legal to bait coyote

i do agree but there are plenty of recipes that make em taste pretty darn good [up] it does make sense that the stuff they eat might infect them but i dont think its very possilbe to transmit it to humans....it would get cooked off when u cook them i would think...are you saying that you guys throw away all the geese you shoot?..not that im against that i was just wondering :D

the site looks good btw[up]

Thanks for the info. Never said we hunt the coyote over bait. Just feed'em out in the woods to keep them clear of the pheasant pens. And yes, I know they don't condone feeding coyote either, but it's a lesser of 2 evils, they come to the area reguardless.
