Find a fresh set of tracks an stalk em up. Depending how fresh the tracks are in the snow you could be on the deer in anywhere from 25 minutes to a hour.

would if i could Private lands. the gang i hunt with are very protective. it sucks sometimes but we all have the same thoughts on deer Management. i ahve known most of these guys for at least 25 years. we only shoot old and big bucks. we have alot of land in zone 8. we work hard at protecting and managing it. Nothing against PjWoods. But he is just starting out in his hunting adventures. it would be torture and not fair to him. to put him in my spots and tell him he can not shoot that 8 pointer cause he is to small or young. He needs to be able to shot what would make him happy. I am well beyond that. I am happy to shoot that 1 wall hanger a year then fill the freezer with Does. My Friends would not be happy about an outsider taking out just any old buck.

it may be hard to understand.... I have sent videos from my treestand to Pj during the season of 3 or 4 bucks just feeding under me. all decent size. i have to let them walk so that next year and years down the road. it is a buck that i will not bother sending video. instead pic of me posing with them.

if you read up . i am trying to get him access to shoot a doe . He can get a doe on his own. it would not be fair to take him on a deer drive. Put him in stand at then tell him unless it is a monster or a large doe. Don't shoot. Pj has taken deer.
