friend of mine received a phone that a cow was shot in vernon. i know wheere this place is and i know double v rod and gun hunt it, supposingly state police are involved.if anybody lives up that way they know about double v..waiting to confirm the story from some other guys. more to come

I heard about that, A few guys went up to hunt a farm, the driver asked the farmer permission to hunt the land and he said yes if he would put down his sick goat. The driver got back to the car and they asked "what did the farmer say?" He figured to pull a prank and said the guy told us to get lost, with that he said " I'll show him and he put shot the goat as asked. Next thing he hear's is Bam. his buddy said to hell with him and shot the cow. Is that how it went down?[rofl]

loaded4bear, don't laugh, a friend of mine lives in Catskill NY, and his neighbor does that every year. My grandparent's neighbor in New Hampshire had their Jersey Cow shot and gutted in their field by some out of staters. He caught them when they tried dragging it out of the field
I called a friend in Vernon who belongs to the club, here is what he told me:
1) last saturday night early sunday morning a cow was shot
2) State police and aspca are investigating
3) early indication is that it may be an anti in warwick NY that has pulled this stunt before, he shoots houses, horses, cows etc on club property to get the clubs kicked off the land.
That's all I know.

i hunt to peice next to where they have permission to hunt. i ' ve been hunting there for years. the property they hunt on is huge and all the way back there is a dairy farm that makes home made cheese etc. from a reliable sourse they traspass back there all the time!! they have a ton of land up there so i dont beleive they even asked permission.i, ve delt with them more than once . lets hope it is an anti .for their sake. because they have a bad name up there ,even got in trouble for posting state land[down]

They posted my Dad's property and then tried to kick us off our own land, LOL that was a sight to see, my old man told the dude he was going to stick his shotgun up the guy's a$$ and give him a new set of brains, gotta know my Dad, he meant it...at least he said it like he meant it....posters were removed and we had no more issues.

This wouldnt suprise me no matter who did it.
A couple years back a horse was shot by a local hunter on rt 517 near the N.Y. border. A big investigation followed and the guy was sued for the damages.
The cow pic is great. I have seen this done out in honesdale p.a. where I hunted years ago.

Kind of ironic you posted this, I was hunting in Vernon this morning with a couple other guys and made a sarcastic comment about the giant deer standing in the field across the road. Well it wasn't a deer but a cow. We joked around about what someone at check station would think if you brought one in...Curious about the outcome of this one

Wasn't there also a "house" shot with a muzzy not long ago [spy] That lead to STOP hunting crys, with some of our own TURNCOATS saying stupid things publicly like maybe it's time to ban gun hunting in New Jersey [spy]. Talk about being played like a fiddle [eyeroll]

WoW I hope they nail the anti to the cross if that's the case. I don't think there is anyone on here that could mistake a cow for a deer at under a hundred yards.

I heard the house was shot twice in hunterdon county with a muzzleloader. Does anyone know the details. WHy would you shoot once reload and shoot in the same direction again. This was the most odd ball story ever.
