a couple of freinds of mine where pheasant hunting at spruce run the other day and my friends dog was acting all skidish by this bush and my friend noticed a big black object in it he quickly called his dog off of it cause he didnt know if it was alive after doing that and getting closer he saw that it was dead so he walked right up to and and there were 3 more dead bears next to the one it was a mom and 2 cubs and another bear. the one was over 300 pounds he said. i was just wonder if its fish and game dumping them there because idk what they do with them or if its some hunter just shooting bears for the hell of it and dumping them there. he said they were all just pilled up and i figured it wouldnt be fish and game just throwing em there where people pheasant hunt. Any one got an idea on it?

wow...i dont know what they are doin there...any gunshot wounds?

i wanna hunt spruce run..i go to school close to there at centenary college..i just need a place to keep my gun other then my truck

I know that NJDF&W was dumping roadkill bears in a remote area of the Flatbrook-Roy WMA in Sussex Co. Maybe they don't want to truck dead bears that far north from Hunterdon/Somerset Co. area, and found a new dump site.
Either way, I'd probably report it anyway to a C.O. just in case it was an incident of poaching & not roadkills.

Why would a hunter do that.
Civil disobedience arising out of disgust.

Others, like myself, just give up hunting in New Jersey and hunt out of state.

I know last year they were dumping the in Witingham. Not sure about Spruce Run though.

Spruce Run is only open for waterfowl hunting.
Yeah they only stock the pheasants to tease people.[hihi]
The kid that found them is my cousin's son,he's home on leave from the Marines.Where he was hunting was legal. I think it's a dumping ground for F&G.

Fish & Game usually have a designated area for roadkill and poached deer. There is an old dump site off of rt 70 in back of Browns Mills, where they dropped deer all the time.I cant tell you how many monster deer i found there that were missing their heads or horns

And you wonder why so many people have a problem with hunters. Statements like yours add to the decline of our sport. We really are our own worst enemies.
You don't think theres any truth to this? Ask the farmers up in Sussex County who have had bears destroy their crops. The fact remains that bears are HUGE problem and this state won't do anything until someone is killed. And who says that hunters are the ones killing these bears? I didnt hunt them when there was a season because I have no interest in it and I know a lot of people that also did not hunt them. But I can tell you for a fact if they had one this year I absolutely would kill one and I would invite all my friends over to help me rid my property of these nusence animals.

2 weeks ago, my town was giving away bear proof garbach cans and all I could think about was how they will spend X amount of dollars on the dumb cans that bears crush anyway instead of fixing the real problem at hand.

IMO, rackmaster didnt say anything wrong. In fact he also stated he know longer hunts the state in which he lives because of the bears here.

When I talked to the (F&W)team that took down the bear in my backyard, they said that after taking tissue/ and or blood samples, that the carcasses are incinerated. They could have been only referring to bears that they take down, and not roadkill though.

The corner of 14th and Washington Streets in Hoboken would be a fine place to drop off the Category 1 bears after they're put down. Let corslime get a look at his policy in action.
