oh man you guys making me nervous!before i found this site i listened to the so called xperts.theysaid the best days 2 hunt the rut would be nov.10th threw the 19th so i took my vacation the week of nov.10th did i make a mistake ?
my favorite week and i took off from work just to hunt it. most of the does that were in heat were bread and this makes it the best time to use a drag line and scent because all the bucks are looking for the last do to breed. i have also noticed that this is also when the most fighting happens so rattling becomes very effective.

I don't know bout the deer but Im definitely in a RUT. The deer aren't cooperating with me this year.
Im hunting Zone 2 and this past 2 days it just shut down where we hunt. After the windy days in the begening of the week I figured Thurs. one of my favorite spots would be fantastic but I didnt see a thing. First time in years I hunted that spot and saw no movement. I figured it couldnt happen 2 days in a row so I went back today, and again NOTHIN! [wallmad][wallmad] I don't know what's going on but my spot was not producing at all.

10/25/2008 Morning Hunt-heavy movement, but all before sun-up. Two large rack backs locked horns in the apple orchard for over 20 minutes-on and off. The winner got the does. The loser moved off over the road. Rain came in about 10:00 a.m. So I got down and went to hang a stand on new property. As I arrived in my car, I almost hit a 6 point chasing a doe accross the road infront of me at 1:00 p.m.! in the wind and rain!

Saw a spike buck running a doe this morning on my way to work. Doe had a broken leg (from a previous car accident?) and ran into the middle of the highway (route 57). Doe was right in the path of oncoming traffic and about to get smashed by a truck before it hobbled back out of the road. The buck chased the doe into the middle of the road, and then back out of the road, and then into a bush where the doe was trying to hide. The truck missed the buck by inches. I bet the buck chased the doe back into the road though [wallmad]

Saw two bucks chasing 2 does on the way to work. Stopped and watched for 10 minutes. The does were moving across a field to go bed and the bucks were chasing them back and forth. Then the 2 buck locked up! One was a four pointer with a big body and the other was a large body six pointer. The horns on this guy were thick! Anyway the four pointer backed off and the six ran after the does again. Fun morning[up]

I have a bunch of new bucks on my cam. Not seeing anything at all on or near the roads and I travel at 3:00AM on some heavy deer populated roads. Very strange. I would rather them stay in the woods then on the road anyway :D

10/30/08 Morning Hunt. Placed estruos scent at 5:45 and then climbed tree. Had two bucks come in in the dark within 10 min. of the scent going out[up]

Hunted zone 2, some does come in, smelled the tinks and bolted.

My buddy hunting in zone 2 had the same thing happen.
