And not those type of services[hihi]
I was wondering has anyone ever traded with a land owner trade service for the privledge to hunt the land. I been an electrician for 16 years and my friend 18 and has his electrical license and been telling him we should go knocking on some doors to see if they are willing to trade everybody always needs some kind of electrical work. Has anyone ever done a trade or is it mostly money talks.

It's something I've thought about, though not sure exactly how to approach it.

I'm a cardiologist. If anyone knows someone who might let me hunt their land in exchange for 24 hour medical advice, please direct them my way.

I think it would be kind of funny to go knocking on doors with that kind of an offer, though.

i got a small piece in burl county for painting a barn 10 yrs ago and i still have it i dont hunt there much...well not at all but i post it every yr:D

yes i have and do every year got 280 acres all to myself and do quite a lot to keep it

i cut the grass of a small farmers place up the road. i only ride up the road on the mower and cut it twice a month, but the guys late 70's and has a nice little 10ac cedar patch that buts up to 50ac of turnips.

i also got a small contract job for a guy, i now can hunt and trap the place.

i have thrown bales for ground, but i'm alergic to hay and straw, damn near died on the ride home.

i have done some small weld repairs for farm equipment for ground.

I had a great place but the old lady died. It was like home when you went there. Me and my buddy worked for her 3 times a year for a full day then if she needed anything major she would give us a call. I miss that place. The new owner said he would think about it and never called us up. I could tell the wife didn't like bow hunting he seem interested.

I pimped out my daughter to the farmer's farm stand. In exchange I got 250 acres of pumpkins and corn to hunt, and my daughter gets $8.00 an hour to work the farm stand. Now That's a win/win situation!

When I was a kid we had a great deal with a farmer and his wife who were almost like family. Saddly they both passed away and I do not have that situation any longer.

Hahah, I'll tell you what I can do for you. If you let me hunt your land, the next time you have a heart attack, you call me and I'll try to save you for free... LOL That's funny!!

Did it for 2 years for 40 acres in Blairstown. Cut down, cut up, split and stacked 10 cords of firewood from April to August (2 guys). Land owner sold 5 of the cords and was viewed as a farm from that revenue. She got a great tax break as a result. Don't do it any more, took too much of my time.

Used to .... heavy farm labor. Felling, splitting wood. Hay. Winter prep. Machinery maintenance.

When it comes to skilled trades work .... electrical, plumbing, etc .... I find that farmers are pretty handy people and do it themselves (and used me to run the cable in crawl spaces, etc , lol).

I used to help one with his taxes a little bit.

It was so worth it..... to get away from the crowds and their bs.
