I was able to connect with a nice 9ptr. today. I drew back on him, and believe it or not, the arrow fell off my rest (hostage rest). I can attribute this to pulling my bow back the night before dry, to make sure it didn't interfere with a new mask I picked up. Something must have happened with the string loop or what not, where it cocked the string funny. He walked about 20ft away, but then presented me with another shot at about 32 yards. Man was I lucky. It was a dead on heart shot. I thought this was an 8pt. but when I approached him, he had this real weird curly tine at the base of one antler. This deer had a huge body too. The butcher estimated it to be over 200lbs. It was 155lbs dressed and caped out for mounting. Here are some photos!
