Full inclusion of xbows is aparrently here next year,the question is how many of you will switch from a verticle bow to a xbow? and how many of you who have not bowhunted yet will pick up an xbow and give bow season a try? Let's keep this one civil guys.

My friend's step dad can no longer pull back his compound bow due to an injury on his shoulder. He has been pretty depressed about this and is excited that he will be able to xbow hunt now.
Me? I spend enough money on my bow now and couldn't imagine getting another bow with all the accessories.

So where's the "BIG CRUSH" of Gun Hunters, swarming the Bow Hunter ranks with CrossBOWS ??
387 views on this thread and only 8 hunters that will DEFINITLY use a CrossBOW. [confused]
Now that's definitly NOT the "massive" invasion of the woods that the Anti Xbowers have predicted !

Even if I'm undable to use a compound anymore, there are other aids available to allow you to continue to draw a bow. I was watching the outdoor channel and hickory creek makes a product that attatches to their bows called the draw loc. The website is www.drawloc.com They had a 70 year old lady drawing back an 80 pound bow and shooting it. I would go that route before shooting a crossbow!

I don't think we'll know till the compendium comes out in print and word gets around,although I expected to get more gun hunter responce posting it here. Maybe they read thru some of the xbow threads and are affraid to post here.
They're going to be pissed if revenue doesn't come in for they've taken alot of heat on this issue and pissed alot of life long bowhunters off. Could this have been a big mistake they made,time will tell,hold on a minute,I hijacked my own thread,sorry

newjerseyhunter is not representative of the NJ hunting population as a whole. The guys that post here tend to be more passionate about hunting and the majority tend to be archers first and foremost. Just look at any online poll that was conducted on this site regarding the crossbow issue. Even you would attest to the fact that the results show overwhelming opposition.
The bootom line is that the average NJ hunter is not the guy posting on this site. It's a guy that hunts sporadically and he'll hunt with the easiest weapon available. The fact is that archery season on public lands will never be the same. Of course Paul, you don't give a damn since you have your PRIVATE hunting grounds.

My prediction, which is based on nothing but a gut feeling, is that in 5 years we will look back on the great crossbow debate and discover it was a total non-issue. "Bowseason" will still exist and the world did not come to an end.

Yet when the opponents of CrossBOWS conducted one of there NUMEROUS polls on Crossbows, they were often refered to as the "TRUE FEELINGS" of the NJ hunters [confused]
Another assumption. I hunt 50/50 State and Private ground.
Sounds just about what's been said in EVERY other State that they are legal in .
