I'm sold that more guys can't afford gas and will just quit this year-- before xbow. Numbers are shrinking anyway but this will help add a few bucks

So what are you saying, xbow guys can afford gas, most of the pros say that full inclusion will produce a flurry of new hunters but then say it'll drop off when they find out it's not a miracle weapon. I don't know about you but i'd rather maintain the true bowhunters that have hunted since they were old enough, than recruit guys that'll be here for a year or two and not pass the tradition on. Numbers are dwindling because guys have had enough and go out of state or don't think it's worth it anymore.

Boy, after reading this I think I must have been at a different meeting? Nope, I know "I" was there. Also said a few words. Why didn't ANY of you guys speak up? [confusedagain]

Max guys are quitting because they can't afford it and xbows aren't here yet. Its pricey everywhere you go. Go out of state and pay for hotels/airfare how is that cheaper. How few days will they hunt out of state. Your debate is really about private vs. public land . I never promised you a rose garden on public land, a place just for one hunter with game around every corner.:)

Why didn't ANY of you guys speak up?
you kidding right, K. Why would I? What would it prove? So I can get attacked just like Joe did. The council made up their minds and no matter what was said or did, nothing was changing it. They knew they were going to beat him up yesterday, without even hearing him out. That first guy with the beard, was arrogant and rude. You can't tell me that he doesn't have some kind of agenda. It was shameful.[down][down][down][down][down]

Guys will pay for a quality hunt, many are giving up the afterwork and weekend hunts to take 7-10 days out of state. The time they hunt is short however it's usually during the rut, when most of us love being out there. It's also not that expensive when you compare it to hunting a couple days a week all year. Think about how much you spend each year.

look its a shame with the way they treated him thats all i'm saying it was unprofessional to talk to someone like that and if you were there and didnt see the hammering taking place then your not openminded...which the council is supposed to be..and as dubs said the first guy that questioned him was very arrogant and at one time he was leaning back in his chair with his eyes half closed during the presentation

Does anybody have the minutes?

Are you kidding me? the guys i hunt with continue to hunt & i don't think anything could stop them or change their mind.

How do you figure? The out of state lic +food+hotel+gas is way more than all the permits + lic for a resident.
Do you just Make things up?
Like....
Most Trad guys tell me they will shoot the first xbow hunter they see.
That statement is no more crazy then its cheaper to hunt 10day out of stae then to hunt a couple times a week locally.

You guys should be happy that they even took the time to meet with the UBNJ.Its no secret that the UBNJ guys have been blasting the Div. for years. How many other private hunting clubs get a chance to air their ideas face to face.

Brian, there was NO attack on Joe. What he was reading had so many contradictions. He was asked questions to explain what he read, and he simply didn't have ANY data to back anything up. You guys are so blinded, you cannot even hear correctly! Nice seeing you all, nonetheless.

dubs we'll talk;)

Brian, thee was NO attack on Joe.
Are you kidding me, K. Did you fall asleep during the meeting? OMG, they tore him a new one. It was ridicolous and uncalled for. Just total arrogance on the part of the F&G council. If they ripped into you or Paul like that I would have said the same. It was like a father yelling at his son in front of all his friends. No class. Just a F'd up organization those people are running. That so called Asst Director sat there smiling the whole time. It was disgusting and now I know that the corruption made it's way to the F&G... No doubt in my mind.[down][down][down][down][down]
