I hope I get out a lot more this year than I have in previous years. If that's the case, hopefully I can see something 5 points or more... I just got my first buck last year which was a 4 pointer. I was able to pass on a button and a spike then, so hopefully I can practice some self control this year and really wait for the one I'm looking for. But as every one else is saying, you never know when you'll get "antsy" :) But I am definitely looking forward to getting a doe as well for some good eatin.

Passing on deer is like passing on women. Better to have one perfect ten than three 5's.[rofl]

Not so sure. Sometimes the 5's are a lot more fun [ko]

BTW, UltraMag .... what part of Pa do you live in? I spend a lot of time in Pa ... hunting, fishing, dirtbiking, etc. I just spent last weekend at a 3-day, 3000 people, paint ball gun war at Skirmish in Jim Thorpe.

Blackduck1pm sent. I want to try to keep the thread on topic.

i wont shoot any more pencil racks... im aiming for 2.5 yrs and older. and nothing smaller than a 6.

(ut oh, now you have it in writing, lol you will see me posting pictures in november of a pencil 6 ptr and ill look like a liar! LOL)

Its hard to say, it all depends on the hunt. If my girlfriend comes that day, or my young brother is watching from across the field, or its a buck that picked me off 10x before hand and nows my chanse (even though hes only a yr and a half. (sometimes its not about the size, but just the chanse to outsmart a smart one)

STORY:
my dad was hunting a few years back and had this one big doe come up the hill (followed by 2 youngsters) and stop behind this pine tree EVERY WEEKEND and stop, snort and run. Well after about 6 or 7 encounters, we went in the woods at 3AM and cut the pine tree down, wasnt a big tree, just enough to block a shot..
well, here she comes, same way, same time.
he drew his bow, she stopped where the tree used to be and started sniffing trying to find his scent. with his pin on her chest, he decided not to shoot. The game was over, he just wanted to know he can outsmart her, never needing to harvest her. He thought better to leave her and teach the young ones so they survive into smarter deer to become larger bucks

Looking to get enough does to fill the freezer. Also, my 8 on the wall needs a friend. But, I'm only shooting a good buck. I will be and have always said...if it's not a big enough buck, then I don't mind not shooting one at all for the season. We let tons of bucks walk during the season due to the fact that we know what's on the property we hunt. Other then that....hopefully lots of ducks and geese. Hopefully this year I'll get my fox so I can do a full mount!

I do too... but I'd like to see anyone on here who could actually handle three 5's at the same time Concentrate on how to aim and shoot straight first...
[rofl][hihi]

Plus, you don't post this when you know your girlfriend is lookin at the thread!
