Night,

Thank You, but still it annoys the HELL out of me that this is how the "GENERAL" hunting public is being treated. Again the website is visible and immediate. If the information is available to "groups" it should be READILY available to everyone.

Great points halfrack,The reason it isn't simply posted on the website is they didn't want opposition, not in large numbers anyway but I don't have to tell you that you live in the coruption just like me. I compare this with my local government, they decide what they're going to do on an issue before the public meeting, listen to the public at the meeting then do what they've decided regardless what the public has to say. F&G is doing the same thing.

Rack...I can only assume everything is not in place or finalized as to how everything will be handled. You are not alone in NJ with the lack of info all the states hunting organizations lack a true "user friendly" web site with up to date current info.

Support coming from gun club members who have no stake to loose in the early bow seasons anyway....
Wrong ChrisM, the guys I am talking about DO NOT belong to my bird only club. They are just guys that deer hunt with BOWS and guns. In fact, in some of the parks that we hunt they spend a lot of time doing nothing but bow hunts with drives. They take a lot of deer with BOWS. Almost everyone of the 25 or so bow hunts both fall seasons and the winter season.

exactly half rack they dont want the GENERAL hunting public to know because they really know most dont want it...just the other night i was at my daughters softball game and i was talking to 2 guys that hunt neither one knew about this 1 said he wouldnt mind using one the other guy said no way i dont want them in archery seasons...i've been in contact with over 20 guys up north new jersey that are on land leases they didnt have a clue this was being implemented...the div knows if everyone knew from the beginning it wouldnt have got this far;)

why have they not posted what they are planning to do on the website?
You know, this statement gave me an idea. Why doesnt F & G just create a survey on the website? The only way you can participate is if you hold a NJ Hunting license (Resident or Non Resident) using your NJ Conservation ID to sign in. It wouldnt be difficult or expensive to set it up so you can only vote once. Use the same technology AOL does for their weekly 'who do you want to be president' poll. That way you could get a better cross section of data. It probably would have been cheaper than the first survey too.

I think I need to make some phone calls,,,,,

No Ace, the state has backed your position with a survey with too many flaws to count.
Fair enough Prove it.....IF you can.....

It's NOT "my position" , please stop Trying to make this about "me" I had nothing to do with this, other than supporting my own fellow bow hunters Who Asked NJ F&G For This--- Fact

The overwhelming majority of the 3,000+ guys that I BOWHUNT with are apposed to the unresticted inclusion of crossbows into the archery seasons.
WOW .......

YOU personally bow hunt with over 3,000 (THOUSAND guys) and are concerned about crossbows "overcrowding" things....[rofl][rofl][rofl]

I guess so "I" am ALSO Opposed to Unrestricted Crossbows in bow season they should be treated with the exact same Restrictions as All other bows in all bow seasons :D

I deer hunt with approx. 25 different people. Some are bowhunters some aren't.
None of them are against the xbow being used in the bow season.
Now maybe because some of these guys are getting a bit older, more injuries etc, but none have a problem with people using xbows.

I myself am faced with a problem for this fall. Due to shoulder surgery there is no way I will be able to draw back my bow this season. Especially the early season in Sept. I would like to be able to hunt during this time. Only chance I would have would be an Xbow. Yet according to the F&G rules I am not eligible. Why? Because my "handicap" is only temporary and not permanent. I have to show a permanent disability to be eligible.
So as it stands, I will most likely NOT be able to get into the woods with a bow this fall.
If the Xbow was legal, this wouldn't be an issue for me or anyone else that has a temporary disability or maybe hunters that have just aged a bit and would still like to get out.

I say make them legal.
First I sincerely hope you have a full and speedy recovery,

Secondly, there is NO good or valid reason for you (or anyone) to have to "jump through hoops" just to be able to bow hunt with YOUR chosen BOW........Period!

Even in your present circumstance you're not allowed and "some" don't want you to be!

It's totally absurd......

They must by now realize your being "out there" would not affect/effect Their hunt one little bit.....still they refuse to share what they don't even own.....[down]

I'm sorry it's presently that way, but rest assured there are Many great folks working together to change that and soon :)

Support coming from gun club members who have no stake to loose in the early bow seasons anyway.
ChrisM.....

Please document Exactly what anyone "loses" here.....

WHAT (exactly) that you Now do will you Not be able to still do when crossbows are included?

NO one is trying to force you or even asking You to use a crossbow, there is in Fact NO loss to anyone, it's a Total Win-Win---Fact

You ask why folks won't accept reality, but You are more guilty than most it seems......[eyeroll]

I will admit, I'm pro crossbow, to some extent. I underline "some."

With that said, why can't those that are pro crossbow see those that are against it?

As many have stated, crossbow guys say the majority has spoken...and "ok" they have out of the 2,000 - 1,047 surveyed, but how about the rest? We still have some 58,000 more hunters to be heard from. So, you cannot even think about saying the majority have spoken.

As for the F&G website. They could have a page up to stress the way one feels about the inclusion of the crossbow. Shoot, they have a page for the WMA's so we can stress our thoughts.

This leads back to my first post...why couldn't we all have a say?

We see them just fine and also realize there are not that many who actually oppose them and also know that they have never given one valid reason for their stance.....--Fact

So, you cannot even think about saying the majority have spoken.
They HAVE spoken!!

There is NO doubt about that --Fact

EVERY single New Jersey entity was used in the Random Scientific Survey, EVERYONE had a voice (or an equal percentage of a voice) BOW HUNTERS in Fact got the strongest voice and Supported The Inclusion--Fact

No, "every single person" wasn't asked, but every single person WAS represented....--Fact

NO one "thinks" the Majority isn't represented they WERE and have made it clear what they support--Fact

Ignoring the accuracy of Random Sampling only can harm one's stance--Fact

This leads back to my first post...why couldn't we all have a say?

Because there is NO reason for it millions of business decisions have been made on Random samples..And they are proven to be VERY Accurate....Fact

You folks are simply wrong in the belief that things "would change" by asking everyone....

NO one is going to do that....
No one is going to put up the cost to do so Accurately....and despite claims to the contrary it would cost many millions to do so and to get the same exact results....Fact

Here WE went through the same exact thing......the Anti Crossbow folks begged, demanded and everything in between for another survey, which BTW confirmed the first......$$$ WASTED to find out what everyone already had known.....and the Anti Crossbow folks still wouldn't accept the Fact that they were WRONG.......--Fact

"I" am not For hunters to make their own bow choices somewhat or to "some extent".....I'm for All hunters to do that, every time, not "jump through hoops" to even get a disability permit OR to have to miss some seasons due to a Temporary disability (which does NOT qualify in NJ for the permit)

In Fact; "I" am not for (to Any Extent) others deciding for anyone else what they should hunt with and MOST support That Stance ---Fact

Ten thousand surveys won't change that Fact either[eyeroll]

What a crock of shit, you ought you be ashamed of yourself FACT
Lol, here ya go, ignore this one more time. The Nielsen ratings here in the USA are based on 25,000 TV sets out of about 100 million. They determine what shows are cancelled, continued, what actors/actresses are either employed or unemployed, how much commercials time is worth, ect. All called ratings or sweep week. Far bigger fish are being fried due to these results than your puny xbow problem, money wise. It's called scientific because scientists have determined how many need to be surveyed out of a random given group to come up w/ accurate data. You know not of what you speak.

I am in the same boat only I lost last year's bow season because of mine.

so we should have a full inclusion because a couple of guys will miss a yr of bowhunting[cry]
