We all have to understand that we are NOT (anglers, hunters, trappers, conservationists) going to all be in agreement at all times, or agree on all issues, or prioritize all issues the same. That is just a fact.
The idea behind the NJOA is to unite all of us 1 million or so sportsmen/sportswomen to leverage our numbers on Trenton and advance our cause. We know we will not be in agreement on every issue - the idea is to work together so that at the end of the day we are ALL better off than when the day began.
There are approx. 10 or so council members now (the list continues to grow) - and we are not always in agreement, and there are issues we discuss that are important to some people and not important to others because of our diverse interests. The challange is to manage our diverse interests and priorities to advance our common cause.
No one said it would be easy, no one said we will all be happy with every decision that is made, and no one was chosen to be on the council because of their stance on a topic. The council is made up of people knowledable and committed to conservation by means of fishing, hunting and trapping. A person's position on crossbow does not preclude them from being knowledgable and committed to conservation by means of fishing, hunting and trapping.

Ant you have & will have my support. When I read some post on this site it made me think that some ppl. can not put aside their personal goals for the good of the sportsman.
Thats what I want everybody to know ,I'm for ALL the sportsmen of NJ. Not part or some but everyone.

hey crossbows are great. my neighbor who has has surgery after surgery on his shoulder and back cant even draw a bow 35 pounds back. he now hunts with a crossbow and if that what it takes to keep him hunting then go for it. it shouldnt be any different for anyone who wants to hunt with one regardless of what organization they are from. people need to grow up. things change everyday. get used to it.

So when someone says "We should have one general deer season" "All for one and One for all, you can bowhunt right next to me as I hunt with a shotgun right from day one as there is NO NEED for seperate seasons".
Anyone who opposes that idea is than an "Anti" and is dividing sportsmen, do I have it right?

No, I think what they mean is anyone who supports any regulation that does not allow any hunter to kill whatever he/she wants, whenever he/she wants, with whatever he/she wants, is an anti-hunter. That should about cover it.

all this pissing and moaning one way or another would stop if they just got their own season. Tough sh#$ that gun, muzzy, and bow days will be deleted to accomodate it.

I think hunters have to hang together. If you don't like the weapon of my choice, don't use it. Your personal feelings about crossbows should not infringe on my right to use one. If I want to hunt with a spear, and its legal, no one should criticize, belittle, or abuse me for using one.

I bet you have not lived here very long since in NJ Somebody gets PAID somebody gets shafted and NOBODY else gets to walk away happy or it don't get done.

MOST are NOT asking for that (and YOU KNOW IT)......MOST just want another CHOICE.....YOU don't want that but can NOT come up with one valid reason (and NO the "sky if falling again" is not good enough )

What it IS about is another archery weapon during an open to the public archery season that some wish to DICTATE to everyone ELSE on for NO GOOD REASON.....
YOUR BUNCH wants to scare everyone into "thinking" the sky WILL fall......when crossbows are allowed even though crossbows have the EXACT same harvest and hunter success rates as compounds do!
How since compounds haven't done "that" can you with any hint of honesty push that agenda??

Ahhh......
But there is ALREADY a bow season FOR BOWS.......why would or should ONLY ONE BOW be singled out??
They shouldn't.......NO one has to use one, but everyone should have that choice along with the others, long bow, recurve bow, compound bow, and crossbow......ALL BOWS BELONG in BOW SEASON....
