2 does with the shotgun...

saw more bucks this yr then i ever had in my whole life...i think a productive year even though i couldnt seal the deal on any of them

216 pheasants (still hunting)
21 chuckars\
1 quail

5 pt-6 day
6 pt-6 day
6 pt- Fall bow
spike- Winter bow

3 buttons- Permit Shotgun
14 does- Early bow, Fall bow and Permit Shotgun

Whats more special to me though is that I got to be a part of two new bowhunters seasons. I helped introduce them both to bow/deer-hunting. Their kills mean more to me than my own
In following this post it reminds me of a local writer who counts every fish he catches and it drives me crazy. "That made hybrid bass number 67 on the year". uuuggghhhh.

I shot a few deer with the bow and missed the bigger ones because of buck fever (a big 8 and a wide 6 during fall bow). If I stop getting buck fever I stop hunting. Numbers tend to turn into "who's buck is bigger contest". It was a great season in zone 8. My usual hunting grounds were devoid of deer, but luckily gained permission to hunt a small tract that was loaded and I saw deer every night I hunted there except for one. That's the best part of the hunt. When a deer appears like smoke out of nowhere.

I am sitting here looking at my tags still hanging on the bulletin board. Had some close calls but nothing but tag soup for me this year. I did have a he** of a time going out!

I had an OK year 1 Black Bear 5 does and an 8 point with the recurve and 1 doe w/ ML.

IMO it looks like Matty had the best year of all since he GAVE the gift that keeps on giving by getting others into the game and watching his Bro. get back in the saddle.
Way to go Matty![up]
On that note one of the best days I had was during the Peak of the rut when I took a Saturday morning off with Bacs and we showed a group of Fathers and sons the joys of breakig\ng clays with a shotgun!

Give a little of your self for the sport and see if it does not give you MUCH back.
