a rainy day kept a boy inside today. with just having surgery he wasnt in school, just laying around the house. that boy..would be me
i go to the kitchen to get a soda and some doritos. i notice on the table something different..i get a chill down my back. i look for a minute to see what has caught my eye. the new little tree my mom got has had something messing with it. i notice the tree scuffed up and dirt is missing from the pot, and its all over the table. i call my dad over and we decide after some debating...a mouse scrape.
a mouse? why a mouse? we have been noticing some poop in one of the cabinets and one of the soy sauce packets was open. the little demon ate my soy sauce..i go to far lengths, riding my bike down the street to the chinese restaurant to get this soy sauce..and this mouse is going to take it from me? nooooo....its time for some revenge. i pull out the 870 express pump..slap on the slug barrel grab a box of shells and put my camo on. i paint my face and head out into the living room stand, as comfy as a couch and get settled.
the stand
i set up about 10 yards from the active scrape, leaving me a nice shot into the kitchen.
i am all set and its getting early. the sun is rising and light is falling through the window. I catch a glimpse of a rodent run across the floor. i get the gun up and wait, but he doesnt come back. at about 10:50am i see the mouse sneak out from the corner and go to the bait pile i laid out.
i put the gun up, get a steady rest and put the sights on him. im a little shaky due to my bad shoulder but take my time and squeez the safety off. i take a breath and let it out. BOOOOOOOOOOOM! the smoke clears and i see that i hit the mouse. i give him a few minutes then go track him..a short tracking job from a good shot.
heres a pic of my trophy!!
