I hunt on public land and I am hearing way too many shots and not seeing anterless deer after wards. So , I called the game wardens to investigate on wednesday I have seen way to many trucks come into the woods again after hours .Zone 16.

I only get to hunt 3-4 days a year right now with work and school and all on public land so doe, buck, fawn if it comes by me when i'm there and it is legal it's going down.

How many days do you guys get to hunt that you can pass on so many deer or what am I doing wrong?

The does are getting slaughtered,I went buy the check station at hi-way sport shop yesterday and the buck to doe ratio was easily 5 does to 1 buck, worse thing they ever did was make doe days during BUCK season. I have a piece of property that I hunt in zone 7,during bow season I have it pretty much to myself(other than trespassers),but come gun season the owners cousin comes up and hunts it with at least 8 other guys, they shoot anything that moves.I wasn't there yesterday I hunted in Bloomsbury but guys that hunt near the property said that it sounded like a war down there, between my property and the state lands. We limit our doe kills during bow season because the herd has been devastated over the past 5 years and we are trying to let it rebuild, but it's becoming useless with all the "if it's brown then it's down" mentality. On another note a guy I know was talking to someone that hunts that state property and he said that he saw 2 "hunters" shoot 6 does at once,he ran over gave them hell then called the CO,the CO came and didn't even write the guys a ticket,I don't know what happened after that, total bullshit. These are the same guys that will be crying next year because there aren't any deer around.

we dont shoot the does during this week, i think they should do away with the doe days during six day and also prior to six day. i only hunt the doe days every sat during jan. we just aint seeing the deer like we use to down in wharton thanks to the clubs banging up the does during buck week[down]

I am waiting until later in the week, maybe Friday afternoon or Saturday if I see one. I personally am not trophy hunting, although a really nice buck would thrill me to death. I shot 5 deer last year and my freezer is just about empty, so I know I will need at least 5 deer again this year to feed those starving teens of mine that seem to never get enough food.

I shoot does.... especially when requested by the landowner. We limit the doe harvest so as not to over kill, try not to shoot buttons and we take nice bucks every year, passing on many small bucks. Yes we shoot does, every one is a trophy and the landowner loves us. A win win for everyone...and we are always welcome back[up]

I'll take a doe if I see one. Have my doe permits and I need to fill the freezer!
