My dad and I took the normal drive to Colliers Mills today. Beautiful morning. COLD. Me thinking im a tough little youngster only brought one glove, the other hand froze. Our normal spot was crowded. What else is new. We found a spot next to a guy with a dog and that was about all we could do. We started to work the field, few shots behind us. The guy next to us has his dog working all over the place in front of us behind us, kinda annoying. His dog flushes a bird right in front of him. He shoots twice and misses so the bird ends up getting in front of me. I take the shot and drop it. As MY bird that I hit is falling he shoots again. He runs over to it tells us to stop and his dog gets it. he looks at me and Im just giving him a look. He THROWS the bird to me. I was polite and said thank you, but boy did I wanna beat his head in with the stock of my gun. Kept going on through the field. Must not have put many birds out in our spot like usual because nobody was really doing much. I will say this was the worst day out I have seen. not so much with the birds but how they were taken. There were people RUNNING through the woods with a loaded shotgun chasing after a bird on the ground and shooting it on the ground. I watched a few guys see the bird land and get 10 yards from it and you hear like 3 shots on the thing. I could of cared less they were doing this, if they need the chicken that bad go ahead. But there were a lot of youngins out there and I have been noticing them more and more lately. These guys were not being safe and we were talking to a guy with a young son and telling him what they were doing was wrong. No more birds after that. We had a rooster fly over us and I guess he was just a little too far away because I took my time and led him..3 shots later hes still going..same with my dad. Oh well still a great day. Weather was great except for it being a little chippy:D Heres a pic of my dog, he doesnt hunt, but hes got the best nose I have ever seen. Hes gunshy:(

Forgot to add, I took a drive into the back where I sometimes find some birds that flew back there. We got stopped by a CO who was checking licenses and seeing if guns were cased. I had the guns all the way cased except for the end where the butt of the gun is. he told me just make sure they are all the way zipped or its like $150 for each gun. Got lucky:D

Chris, sorry you didn't have a better time out there, today. Was pretty cold today. Bet you'll take both gloves, next time.[kiss]
Does sound like people were a bit reckless. [wallmad] Safety should always be foremost. It's just too important. [up]
Glad you were able to get out with your dad, though. Nice dog, you have there. ;)
