It wont be easy filling my tag this year, scouted my NY spot just over the state line and it was [down]then did some spot lighting of the fields around my zone 2 area, very very few deer, like 4 when I usually see 20-30

All I can say is that it was the worst season in our part of Zone 2 since 1994 (when I started hunting the area). Our lease actaully had some solid buck sign and I even saw a solid 8 during bow but something changed during the blackpowder/shotgun seasons. Maybe it was the weather or lack of surrounding pressure but our club had the worst year for both bucks and does. There has been a lot of development in our area from good ole Toll Brothers[mad] and others plus it seems a lot less guys are hunting during the gun seasons. Not to mention the late shotgun seasons and doe a day policies[sad].
Maybe next year will be awesome but I dont like the way things have been going.
