I took what I thought to be a doe for zone 67. I had the old trusty T/C Renegade with iron sights with me this morning. I saw this deer at 65 yards and decided it was a mature Doe and put one through its pumphouse. It jumped about 5 feet and dropped dead. When I walked up to it, I found out it was a spike with 1 inch points coming out of the pedicals[down]

Where is zone 67? I just looked in all the sets and didn't come across 67.All the other sets says that ML season doesn't start until the 26th.

High Point State Park (Zone 67):
There is no lottery for Zone 67 permits this year. To hunt High Point
State Park, hunters must purchase a Zone 67 permit from a license agent or
via Fish and Wildlife's Internet license sales site. Permits are available over-thecounter
on a first come, first served basis, beginning at 10 a.m. Oct. 9, 2007.
See Deer Season Permits, page 16.
Permit Muzzleloader Season: Nov. 5 - 8 and 12 - 15, 2007 (8 days) - bag
limit: unlimited antlerless deer and ONE antlered deer. The hunter's first deer
must be antlerless. Successful hunters may then harvest an antlered deer if in
possession of Antlered Buck Bonus Muzzleloader Permit. Any antlered deer
taken in Zone 67 must have at least one antler with three antler points. A
total of 350 permits are available.
Deer hunting is prohibited in High Point at all other times. Hunters are
not permitted in the park before 6 a.m. or after 6 p.m. Hunters must visit the
park's Web site for details on the hunt, hunting maps and regulations at
www.nj.gov/dep/parksandforests/parks/highpoint.html. The High Point State
Park Office is located at 1480 Route 23 South in Sussex. Call (973) 875-4800
for more information on park regulations before applying for a Zone 67 permit.

On the posititve side the bad genetics are out of the herd.

we keep takin the biguns out and we're allowing the spikes to go on and reproduce lil baby spikes... argh...
oh well.
Just because they are spikes when they're young doesn't mean they are going to be a spike next year.
