The vegan blogs say NJARA's/Animal Protection PAC's Doris Lin is a heroine of sorts in the recent court decision regarding the bear lawsuit and the undermining of the Fish & Game Council's oversight of New Jersey's natural resources.

It looks to me that they are doing all they can to destroy the integrity of the operation of the council as well as the morale of the members.

Prove them wrong - Attend the rally on October 28th and vote on November 6th.

-------------------------------

She's [Doris Lin] a wonderful vegan mom, friend and obviously, lawyer! Quote: Dear friends, If you haven't already seen the news stories, a major legal victory was won yesterday when the NJ Appellate Division ruled in favor of New Jersey Animal Rights Alliance and the BEAR Group lawsuit against the DEP regarding the 2005 bear hunt and bear hunt plan. The court decided that the NJ Fish and Game Council violated rules and regulations in formulating their hunt plan, meaning that there is in fact, no bear hunt plan at all.

This was a real strike against the Council, and it couldn't have come at a better time when you consider how the legislation to reform the Council is such big news in itself. This was a smashing defeat for the hunters and the Council, and there is one person that I want to single out for congratulations;

Doris Lin. Doris holds a number of positions in the animal protection community (one being Issues Specialist for the Animal Protection PAC), but it was her role as a lawyer that won the day. Doris took this case on literally by herself and worked tirelessly, spending dozens (if not hundreds) of hours, all without pay, investigating and researching this case.

And for her efforts she not only beat the Council but hunting groups such as the Safari Club and US Sportsmen Alliance.

That's just beautiful - thank you Doris! You can see Doris on NJN last night here - it was the top story: http://www.njn.net/television/webcas...sthursday.html To add to this victory, I am happy to say that yesterday NJARA had published in not one but two newspapers - the Daily Record and Asbury Park Press, a letter in response to the vicious attack against them by Anthony Mauro, president Hunter PAC that is fighting against Senator Karcher and Assemblyman Panter.

Mauro and I had dueling Op-ed's in the Asbury Park Press a couple of weeks ago about the election.

And he, clearly not having any arguments to make, and not being a very good writer, lashed out at every group he could think of.

In the end, all he did was destroy his credibility and give our side even more opportunities to he heard.

Angi Metler's letter to the editor is at the end of this email, below the quotes from the news stories about the victory for bears. Sincerely, Stu Chaifetz Director, Animal Protection PAC www.ProtectNJAnimals.com Here are quotes from two articles: "Our victory today shows that the Fish and Game Council cares nothing for laws and procedures," said Doris Lin, a lawyer who argued in front court against the hunt.

"Instead of managing wildlife for all of us, the Council abuses their power to satisfy the recreational hunting desires few." http://www.njherald.com/293183960688080.php GANNETT STATE BUREAU TRENTON -- When a bear goes up against a hunter, it's usually the hunter coming out on top.

But not Thursday before a New Jersey appellate court panel. The three judges sided with animal rights advocates by invalidating a 2005 bear management policy that called for a yearly hunt.

And he, clearly not having any arguments to make, and not being a very good writer, lashed out at every group he could think of.
Wow![eek] And to think Ant, everything you have ever written that I have read was always extremely well done and highly professional. You cite example upon example of FACTS. Maybe I'm missing the point of what this idiot thinks a good writer should be[confused]

Thanks for the kind words yoda4x4

FYI - the source of the comment has so little credibility that the opinion is easily overlooked.

Plus, their attention is directed at me in order to try to take attention from their operation with the Animal Liberation Front (ALF.) Alf has been designated as a prime domestic terrorist threat by the FBI.

NJARA / Animamal Protection PAC - Chairwoman Metler, is a press spokesperson for an ALF publication. ALF has taken responsibility for the damage done at Griggstown Quail farm, and the destruction at Huntington Life Science center - both in NJ. NJARA even has a fund they actively promote for donations to free the SHAC7 (the felons jailed for the trying to destroy Huntington Life Science center.)

They also invited Ron Coranado as a speaker to their 20th Anniversary bash. Mr. Coronado is a convicted arsonist, and has committed other crimes during his affiliations with ALF.

These are the people NJARA / Animal Protection PAC associate with and support. They actively try to undermine the efforts of the Division of Fish & Wildlife by tampering with bear traps, obstructing legal hunts, and making terrorist threats to hunters. A group of NJARA and BEAR supporters/members were arrested for such activity.

They say my writing is bad - if that is the worst the can say about me then I'll accept the criticism - as long as they own up to their unseemly and illegal activity, and the wasting of people's tax dollars by having to prosecute them in the courts and preventing DFW from effectively doing their job.

These are the people with whom Panter and Karcher align. These are some of the people funding their campaigns. They have made no effort to distance themselves from NJARA / Animal Protection PAC. I guess this type of undermining will continue as long as Panter & Karcher are in office.

The case was decided on the most minor of technicalities. Ms Jackson (ie Mr Corzine) had no standing to throw out the policy .......

On Sept. 27, the New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division essentially ended bear hunting in the state when it ruled the bear management policy invalid. From the hunting program to bear research and population monitoring, the plan has been scrapped.

The court decided the case based on technical grounds. It decided that the plan is akin to a Department of Environmental Protection rule, and despite it having received approval in 2005 by then DEP Commissioner Bradley Campbell and the New Jersey Fish and Game Council, the Comprehensive Black Bear Management Policy missed a few steps in the rulemaking process.

While the Court acknowledged that notice of opportunity to comment on the plan was published in the New Jersey Register, it concluded that the publication should have described the proposed plan in detail rather than referred the reader to a website where the full plan was available. The Court also concluded that a list of all persons commenting on the plan should have been included in the subsequent publication in the New Jersey Register announcing the adoption of the plan.

In the “silver lining” to the decision, the judges also commented that, if the plan had not been void for these technical reasons, Environmental Commissioner Lisa Jackson would have overstepped her authority when she unilaterally withdrew the state’s Black Bear Management Policy in 2006. In this respect, the Court agreed with the argument of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance Foundation and other sportsmen’s groups, which had sued the state when Jackson arbitrarily discarded the approved plan, nixing the bear hunt.

Ant, You are an accomplished writer. You always present the facts in a professional manner, whether you are writing or speaking. Keep up the great work! [up]

These people are spewing their rhetoric, which is nothing more than BS and lies, as they have nothing else. They should have NO say regarding the F&G Council, whatsoever! [down]

If they want to go hug a bear, who's stopping them? I, for one, would love to see that, as the bear would come out on top. One less STUpid anti. Of, course, I am talking about a wild bear in the woods, that was not drugged up or compromised, in any way. Doris or Stuie, I dare ya!! [tasty][eyeroll]

ALF , in many many incidents have been cited for breaking laws. They are a hardcore group.. Setting fires.. breaking into places.. etc.

The type of people that will damage your stands..

Well, you knew they were going to crow over this right? BUT! they won't be crowing so loudly when their terrorist supporting ASSemblyman and Senator are voted out in November and the bills defeated.

Besides, read the blogs! It's not a victroy for animals, It's a victory againsthunters! Just goes to show you they could care less about animals and care only about forcing thier warped veiws on everyone else.

Ms.Lin had made a statement at one of the Monmouth County Parks Public Forums that "all hunters are known wife abusers" When I challenged her to prove her statement and she referred me to Evan Nappen's advertisement that he defends " Domestic Violence"
So in her mindless thinking because Nappen handles Domestic Violence cases, we as male hunters beat our wives, but only when we strick out in the woods.[wallmad]
