is there any public land in nj that is both huntable and your able to ride an atv on?

But, if you have a handicap hunter the ATV will help out greatly.
Just let people take a mandatory safety course, and make the fines stiffer for outlaw atv people.
I know my buddy can ride and does ride his dual sport all through teh pines and can legally do it. Problem is dual sports do not serve a shall we say, hunters purpose for utiliy.
People still wheel around in 4X4 all the time by hidden lakes, the rail road tressel by 72 or the woodshed, and all over the woods.
There hopefully will be a way to use a quad with springent rules and regs.

Lungbuster sure your right about that but we should keep that just to the Physicaly handicapped the mental cases and the emotionaly challenged that seem to think they not only have a right but an obligation to "Tear it up" should NOT IMO.

Agreed, I have had the same thing happen in 19 during bow season. I am in my tree, deer starting to come in and next thing I know 4 quads looked like family outing road 50 yard from my stand down a dirt trail.

Hi Lungbuster. How would you feel about that family doing their outing if it was not hunting season?
Would you share the land with them? Or, it just wouldn't work in NJ ... too crowded, too little available land?
NJ DEP did promise, for some 12 or 15 years, that there would be two state owned offroading areas in the state ... one in the north, one in the south. One of the parcels purchased was a closed gravel or sand quarry area at the northern point of the Pine Barrens. The Corzine administration wants nothing to do with it.
I'm the first one to note that you put one a**hole on an atv, and he can cause lots of damage to lots of places, even people's lawns. But, for every a**hole, there are many good people, family types, that are taxpayers also, and would like some public land to legally ride on. NJ DEP quoted some huge number, as to the number of offroad maching owners in NJ, and they stated that is was wholesome, family fun. And that's why they were searching for appropiate land.
We all complain about poachers, tresspassers, tree stand theives (I complain about baiters, myself, lol), but the majority of us are good people.
I guess NJ is just too small and crowded ... with more than our fair share of a**holes.
Funny thing is .... I belong to an offroad riding club in Pa(Tower City Trail Riders Inc), and a hunting club (Bear Mountain Hunting Club), and BOTH clubs lease the SAME land.
Just part of living in NJ

We were promised, we were promised, tough $hit. The harm that ATV riders have done to our WMA is unbelievable.
Like we said to you before... "when the ATV riders pay to fix all the damage ( guardrails pulled up, trails torn up, crops damaged ect. ect. ) then they will get a park"

yep....i call people rats who tattle tale....mind your business...thats why we have police and conservation officers....let them do their job ....i dont tell the guys painting my house how to paint......if you wanna debate this AGAIN then start a new post....dont hijack this one

So by this philosophy, I guess when we see people breaking the law...for example: robbing a bank, causing a car accident (hit and run), breaking into our neighbor's home, etc...we should really just mind our own business and let them have at it.
The cops and conservation officers are kind of like the Wizard of Oz in your world huh...all knowing, all the time?

I am not sure of the regs regarding what types of vehicles are allowed on the beach at ibsp but you certainly can take your truck on the beach to fish. Also most of the towns along the ocean county waterfront have permits available for those who wish to use their trucks on the beach in the offseason

I think in the instance it is even worse because here is a guy who knows what kind of damage they can do and is aware of the nuisance that they are and yet still has that ride'em anywhere outlook. A lot of my friends used to ride all over, private property, farms, golf courses etc. but they had no idea the damage and inconvenience they were inflicting/being. Now some of'em wouldn't care anyways, but some would.
