Congrats [up]

Man that's great a "Baited in" "Fawn" "Button Buck" with the "Crossbow" Can't Get Any Better Then That [up] [rofl][rofl][rofl]

A few years ago we started a pool at the begining of the season. You paid $20 to get in,then you paid $1 for a miss,$5 for a cripple, $10 for a cripple buck,$10 for a deer under 50 lbs, and $20 fine for a button buck under 50 lbs. This pool made you stay away from the small deer. When you add the price of the arrow and a fine it became expensive shooting the little guys. Plus you do not want to hear all the flack after killing one.

I aim for the spots:D
I personally will always shoot the smaller fawn ONCE I CONFIRM its a DOE! I would have to have them in to about 8 yards or under to see the bumps. Anyway, I got 4 already and they are the best eatin. The blacktaggers here kill deer by the dozens and Its better for me to shoot and eat then for them to shoot and leave em for the buzzards and yotes. Not sure I agree on crossbows for somone who can easily use a climber but I dont know you or your story,so Congrats on a fine kill! I havnt accidentally shot a bb since I 1983,I was 13 and was shooting the first der I saw:D

Not my tactics or choice to kill but in this state it is legal so he harvested a legal deer by legal means.
That aint' my bag-If I had to resort to that I'd probably give up hunting altogether
I kind of echo those sentiments. The place I'm at in life now, with 30 years of this stuff behind me, shooting a spotted deer, smaller than the weapon I killed it with, over bait, isn't something I'd be proud of, or even do, but we don't know much about this guy so, maybe for his current hunting situation, it's different.

My first 3 deer were button bucks (no spots, couldn't start that early back then :D ) so I can certainly understand it to some extent and even though it's tough for some of us to accept, we need to try and remember we all go through different stages as far as why we hunt and what we get out of it. Now, if you've been hunting for alot of years and taken plenty of deer, well, then I just might be [confused]

I'm sure it was good eating though.
