depends wind direction, time of year, how far i feel like driving are all key factors for me

I have about 10 stands hung for the season. I have some set for the early season, some for the rut, some for the late season. But as the season wears on I make some adjustments, I'll move my early season stands deeper into the woods into my "rut" spots by the beginning of October. No stand is "Un-moveable".

3 diffrent stands I rotate for wind direction pressure etc......

I go with Marksworld if I get pegged I move down wind of that spot or just evacuate the area for a while. On average I do a lot of bouncing, I hunt mainly WMA's so I hunt the hunting pressure and move around accordingly.

I start close to the house for the first 4 weeks as they enjoy shrubs, apples, lawn. flowers; then move deeper where chestnuts/acorns are falling for most of October; then close to bedding zone for the rut.
january there back to searching the houses, tasting all the shrubs there not supposed to eat such as holly:D I guess I'm a BAIT hunter[hihi][hihi]

i hang 15 stands and bounce all year. before every hunt i get the wind direction, go on google earth and look over my farms. i may hunt the same stand 4 days in a row, might hunt a stand once a year. depends on wind direction and if i know a big one's in the area.

As for the wind i think thats one of biggest problems . I hunt zones 18 and 21 and were i hunt its ALL pines and that dam wind swirls in every direction all day long .I try to get up as high as i can but it dont work. Its a big differance from living up north more when the wind blew it blew i a specific direction . maybe i need to get outta the pines :D

john i hear you i also hunt zone 18 in the pines and the wind sure does swirl a lot
but like you said get high in tree and keep scent free
also i use a climber so i almost never hunt the same tree or local area i hunt the signs i find on the ground( by the way most times led[down] to a bait pile) but i stay on the look out for new spots all the time

I usually have about 5 or 6 stands hung and hunt them when the wind is right. But mostly I rely on my climbers to switch around to different areas. I might hunt out of a portable 20 times a season or I may not use it at all. I like to have many options.
