I'm looking for a spot to bow hunt in Hopatcong. I, just started a new job in Hopatcong working 8:30pm to 5:00am (morning). I want to hunt in the morning for 1-2hrs, before going home to sleep. I don't want to drive far in the morning, after working all night.

I checked over that property and it is posted from the bridge to brooklyn mountain road-and posted signs are fresh-not so sure that's public ground.

As for close proximity to Hopatcong-go to Allamuchy-back side is zone 8 and is open now, front side is in zone 6 --2 more weeks for that property

No names on the signs until you get about 1/2 mile from the library, then the Huson Farm signs take over-Posted signs are brand new, and at 50 yard intervals

Interesting..... I had no idea Kellogg bought all of that land. I would check tax maps, I heard it was only about 200 acres. Much of that was "Hopatcong Natural Lands". It's disturbing that the town would sell something designated as "Natural Lands".

End of Blue Heron Lake road in Sparta or take Route 15 north to first Sparta exit and stay right it dead ends. All WMA now, state just bought it within the last two years was private. Alot of open woods with some maple and oak stands, funnels can work in this area due to the rocky and swampy terrian. Backs into old powerline that runs up to Weldon WMA and the Pascoe's used to hunt.

I was in the area today and confirmed that Hudson Farm only owns the area west of old Brooklyn Mountain road. That leaves at least 2 miles of huntable land from Old Brooklyn Mountain road to about 1/4 mile from the Sussex library on Stanhope Sparta Road. It is not posted and still open for hunting.
