Caught today by a woman names Monica Oswald.She also had a 18+ weakie last year.

"Monica Oswald of Neptune hauled in a 38 inch, 24.3 pound fluke off Monmouth County in about 55 feet of water this afternoon."

Last I heard was she was using 65# braid...and IGFA is limited to 30# test in respect to world records...that is what I HEARD...I don't even know if that is true.

Regardless, that fish is INSANE...hats off to that lady...definitely once in a lifetime fish for sure. Hopefully what I heard about the world record requirement is wrong and she gets it! [up]

That would be a shame. I do like the new look of fishing record holders. The more women we get the stronger we will be.

She didnt bleed the fish. She would be crazy to do that as it would lose weight on the way to the scales. from the stories i have read, that happened when she was retrieving the bucktail.

She had to get the bucktail out so that it would not increase the weight of the fish on the scale
