"That's a matter for your DNR to address, not the choice of weapons used."

I dont think so. If the dnr is willing to go either way on the issue, then it is also a hunter concern. Do the hunters want better buck quality and more of them? Or do they want MORE opportunity and more weapons legal etc? (not even going into all the maleffects they are well known.) Its quite easy to protect the quality and STILL control the herd. Concentrate more on allowing more doe to be harvested with added antlerless only seasons or more tags and restrict or at very least stop increasing opportunity on the buck.

"Since both xbows and compounds have the same harvest success rates, means nada."

Crossover hunters...More opportunity = more harvest.

"Contrary to your beliefs, it would appear Oh has had, does have, and will have a great deer herd."

My beliefs? My beliefs are fact. You kill more and more buck, and that harvest increases, sooner than later the buck numbers and age will drop....Maybe acceptable to some, I wouldnt take our great resource so lightly. I hunt regularly in Pa where the quality has always been flat out crap compared to ours.... They harvested FAR too many buck for FAR too many years killing 80%+ of their yearling bucks each year! I know the good. I know the bad. I know the obvious and I know what biologist have to say on the topic. Killing more buck has its effects. Not worth giving xgunners more time afield.

"Why don't you spend some time on Bowsite trying to convince your friends to let the buttons walk?"

I do. I havent shot a button buck in over 15 yrs! My friend refrain as well. We also dont shoot "dink" bucks. I wont tell you my criteria for a shooter buck, since if it were anything less than 170" you would make light of it, but, rest assured, I do not practice yearling slaughter! (LOL) It is the number of guys afield not so considerate to the resource that make the difference....and not a good one.

I think quality of the resource, ethics, example for our youth, avoiding slobs, season structures, hunter division, integrity of the sport and alot of other things are more important than YOUR freedom of choice. (more accurately stated as; your demand for a crutch)

Also, what about OTHERS freedom of choice? Let us assume the majority doesnt want crossbows(gee big stretch huh? LOL) If they DO care about all those things I mention and their "choice" is NOT to have them legalized.... Do you then think they STILL should be legalized? If yes, that is FLAT OUT GREED and selfishness!

My beliefs are fact
[rofl][rofl][rofl][rofl][rofl][rofl][rofl][rofl]

Sure they are! You can put lipstick on a pig,and it's still a pig![lol][lol]

Also, what about OTHERS freedom of choice?
No matter whether they support crossbow inclusion or NOT they still can use their archery weapon(s) of choice....crossbow inclusion adds one more simple choice for those who want it, NO more and NO less...(something a second grader could easily grasp btw)...As for those who don't want them, fine, don't use them, don't try to keep other fellow hunters from having a choice.....that's counterproductive....

avoiding slobs
According to YOU.......who made YOU the decider of who IS a slob and who isn't???? Ok now go and pat yourself on the back again real hard this time.....

"You can put lipstick on a pig,and it's still a pig!"

HUH???[confused][confused]

Are you trying to tell us that you are a crossdresser?[confused][confused]

The only time I cannot call you a liar is when you dont make much sense! (LOL) I only do when I know for sure, so that would be about 99 of your last 100 posts and counting.

Im talking about the majority should have the "freedom of choice"[ko] to decide if crossbows should be legal.... The vocal few and the manufacturers SHOULD NOT DICTATE a states policy!! PERIOD! It affects ALL! ALL should have a say!:p

HOw can I tell a slob?? ITs QUite easy. If one fits the obvious criteria. Just like you find it easy apparently find to tell what a pig with lipstick looks like...

IMO you sound like a very very lonely farm hand by making that comment![hihi]

Im talking about the majority should have the "freedom of choice
The majority being whom??? Majority of sportsmen/women in a particular state ??

The only time I cannot call you a liar is when you dont make much sense!
Truth facts and data are clearly words you don't and can not understand.....and your calling me a liar is as valid as any of the other non-provable BS you post on every post of yours (not just 99 of the last 100) Finding one little shred of verifiable proof in any of your posts is the proverbial "needle in the haystack" I am quite certain by now everyone knows just how true that is...

HOw can I tell a slob??
Again NOT what I asked, WHO made you the decider of who is or isn't a "slob"????? What credentials do YOU possess? ARE you above the Senior Wildlife Biologist in GA? OR ANY others that have compiled real data in Ohio, VA , GA, Tenn to name only a few?? Since they state a "positive" and you dispute it, (over and over ad nauseum) how about YOU tell everyone why you are so much more qualified than those who decided to include crossbows in so many states??

NO one can even possibly begin to take you seriously, that's what is so interesting about all of your chest pounding and patting of yourself on the back....

Exactly, who the heck do you think I meant? The firemen from each state??[rofl]

Watch my lips ace, L I A R!

Anyone can tell if someone is a slob. Doesnt take a "slobologist degree". The only thing that I have over you in being able to decipher who is and isnt is the fact I am not a liar and you are! Noone would ask a liar seriously. About who is a slob or isnt, or anything else for that matter is they want the truth.

It has been my personal experience, having lived and hunted in the state with lots (too many) crossgunners for many years and have seen what Ive seen. Also dealing with them on internet etc. show them for what they are. Also the all too obvious laziness, selfishness and disregard for fellow hunters, the will to seek shortcuts, poor work ethic, and on and on. The reasons they seek what they seek foretell their "qualities" also to a large extent.

is the fact I am not a liar and you are!
having lived and hunted in the state with lots (too many) crossgunners
Whatever.......[down]

IF as you claim you are not a liar........HOW do you live in a state where crossgunners legally hunt? I can't find ONE state that allows this.......interesting FACT there!

NOR can I find ONE definition of "crossgunners" ANYWHERE AT ALL.....THAT is not good for supporting your "claims" nor is claiming 1600 times in just a fw posts, but unlike you I won't call you a liar....

disregard for fellow hunters,
Now THAT sounds VERY familar indeed![hihi][lol][hihi][lol][hihi][lol]

That's YOU........

Exactly, who the heck do you think I meant? The firemen from each state?
YOU didn't say........I don't know, and I'm NOT about to guess what is in your mind........NOT going "there" at all!

[rofl][rofl][rofl][rofl]

NOW maybe you'll just answer who the heck you mean??? Then you see we'd all KNOW wouldn't we?

Watch my lips ace, L I A R!
Watch mine......

Says YOU who has NO credibility here AT ALL....who cares what you say? I most certainly do not.

Reading your posts is "entertaining" (yet sad) kind of like watching the monkeys throw their own excrement around.....fun to watch for awhile but sickening after not much time AND throwing excrement around IS what you do best on here......

[lol][lol][hihi][hihi][hihi][rofl][rofl][rofl]

(YET) Again Sammy boy.......one of the BASIC rules of debate states that when one party resorts to insults, name calling and/or personal attacks, they have NOTHING else to try to use IF THEY DID HAVE THEY WOULD DO SO....and IS proof positive they have a VERY weak position/stance. When NO facts or real data support ones stance they MUST resort to other methods to TRY to stay IN the debate.

Since you have been here YOUR posts have been and are still filled with exactly that.......NO substance NO fact (other than what YOU state as facts and are not, and have NOT been proven to be but in fact have been very easily and totally refuted by real facts and data).....

So the ONLY thing you've proven in all of your posts IS how true that basic rule of debating in fact IS....

I think quality of the resource, ethics, example for our youth, avoiding slobs, season structures, hunter division, integrity of the sport and alot of other things are more important than YOUR freedom of choice. (more accurately stated as; your demand for a crutch
The quality of the resource has been addressed, 5 record seasons back to back in Oh.

Ethics is not weapon related, only a moron would claim otherwise.

The net abounds w/ stories of kids getting an early start hunting w/ xbows, supervised from ground blinds.

Your definition of a slob is offbase and meaningless. But, you know that!

Season structures ????????? Got me there, no idea what your rambling about.

There is far less division than you would have us believe. Just like compounds, xbows are short range archery weapons. Noone is forced to use them.

As far as integrity, let's stick to topics you have a clue on. You've lost yours somewhere along the line.

A crutch is a device to assist the walking wounded, has nothing to do w/ xbows, which have same harvest stats as compounds.

People like samuel are like gun banners who think that if you own an AR 15 or an AK 47 semi-auto clone you must be a gangbanger or you crave killing people. I was staff shooter biggest archery dealer in SW ohio from 1995-2001, then I was part of the management at Bethany Archery (2001-2005). Most of the xbows we sold were to older hunters with years of experience. True, some were gun hunters who were looking to hunt in areas that opened up hunting to archers but did not allow guns. Slobs? LOL-I cannot tell you how many compounds I set up that remained in closets until a day or two before bow season opened.

Mr. Samuel Sir,

I have to vigorously object to your characterizations of fellow hunters. You have absolutely no idea how anyone is except yourself and possibly your family members to some degree.

First of all you show a tremendous amount of disrespect for those of whom you don't know. You characterize based upon emotion and not facts. The only thing that probably happens to you on the internet, is that you have those who may disagree with you actually confront you with some of your statements.

Please explain for example, how you come to the conclusion that crossbow shooters are "the all too obvious laziness, selfishness and disregard for fellow hunters, the will to seek shortcuts, poor work ethic, and on and on. The reasons they seek what they seek foretell their "qualities" also to a large extent."

To tell you the truth Mr. Samuel, I'd appreciate you citing some provable examples of what you say. It can be links to articles websites etc, but you really do not do service to yourself with these mis-characterizations of fellow hunters and reduce to the passe your credibility.
