A traditional archery is an complex system in which resources are allocated by inheritance, and which has a strong social network and is based on primitive methods and tools. It is strongly connected to subsistence farming. The majority of archers traditional tools have been replaced by command fpc, market flodding, or sideways shooters. However, it is found today mainly in underdeveloped, agricultural parts of South Jersey, North Jersey, and Bermidge, Minnasota.

Advantages
Traditional archery fosters the sense of community, as it causes little friction among members and provides a sense of security and psychological comfort. Subsequently, there is a relatively low unemployment rate and low crime rate. A traditional archer allows for a greater degree of autonomy as no money or little is given to the NJH and there is no competition.

Disadvantages
A traditional hunter does not allow for much physical growth and development as changes are very slow and there is a lack of physical mobility. A traditional hunter does not take advantage of technology and there is relatively little promotion of intellectual and scientific development. With no incentives for entrepreneurs, the consumer choice is diminished, which leads to a lower standard of shooting and is not recommended among larger shooters.
:)Well, that is just my opinion the subject. Hope it clears things up for you. [hihi]

I beg 2 differ. The technology today has done wonders for trad bows. there is no Disadvantages to traditional archery/hunting.

I haven't hunted traditional yet, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna respect the game just the same as when I go out with my wheelie. I want to shoot traditional because for me it is more fun. I enjoy shooting my recurve much much more than my darton. The feeling when I hit my target without using any sights or reference points is just so amazing. It's so instinctual, and primative, and demanding. But the rewards are so much more for the better in my humble opinion.

I can't think of too many things in this world where downgrading in technology brings so much more pleasure. I know going from a cadilac to a saturn isn't all that much more fun. But for some strange reason, when I pass on archery technology to go primative, I can't help but smile the whole time doing it.

Just what about the reflex / deflex, Oh no technology. Ignorance is rapport and wasn't just brought in when they crossed the border?[rofl][rofl]

The disadvantage is lodged in the brain. Obviously theres confussion in that individuals mind that wrote that[rofl]

You harvest an animal with no mechanical aids and the animal has a hole different meaning alltogather. First of all your going to more than likley be close. Such as eye to eye when you draw on it. You might even be able to see it's heart beating on it's chest. You can see the lungs and ribs expand with it's breath as you release your arrow. Traditional takes you deep into the heart of the hunt.:)

I don't need one to proof how good of a hunter I am... Food in the freezer and I Great meal on my plate is the greatest way to Respect the game I hunted... I don't hang them one walls to show them off, to me that would dishonor them. ( I do like to see other peoples mounts )

When a traditional bowmen go's on trips that's the by product with the building of a mooseeum. I have been blessed so don't confuse this with pride or arigance as it sounds and some beleive.[rofl][rofl]

But cat, You always bring up the mooseeum grap. You need yours to prove your manhood, You have said in the past "If Your a real hunt show me Your mooseeum" You are on the darkside Cat...

Please don't take this as bragging, but after a few decades behind a compound, I'm 99 44/100% sure that I can successfully drop any deer within 40 yards. The challenge in bow hunting shifted from not whether I would take a deer by whether I would find that older buck.

With the recurve, I'm now confident enough to take a 15 yard shot on game-way much more of a challenge for me! I've got that zing back! I know I have to be right on top of any animal I intend to shoot, and that realy gets me stoked.

I just can't wait till the 8th.

Whats your reason?
While I agree with all of the above statements and observations I have several more including the absolute BEAUTY and GRACE of Traditional bows and even many primitives out there but for me at the top of the list is the functional simplisity that is a part of the traditional package.
While I have to pass on many situations that would be easy with a gun or I guess a crossbow and many that I could make with a compound I live for the moment where a situation presents its self and in less than a second I take advantage of a momentary oppertunity and make as clean a kill as I could with any other weapon.
YUP because I can keep it simple.
