You guys complain about Dicks, but the minute they put fishing gear, guns or ammo on sale you beat feet over there.

Me I don't shop anyplace that thinks golf clubs are sporting goods.

Bravo mikejd. Spot on observation! Dicks is running everyone out of the business and when they do they will set the market 'cuz there is no competition. They don't want to sell licenses. It's a losing proposition for them. The other night it took 3 guys 1 and 1/2 hrs to get their licenses. So Dicks made $1.50 on the licenses and paid a clerk($10 per hour) for 1.5 hrs that's $15. So the net is they lost $13.50. Some manager or bean counter is taking note of that and it's all about the bottom line and NOT the customer. I believe in supporting the little guys. Look at how all the mom and pop hardware stores went down the tubes. Handwriting is on the wall.

West Creek Bait and Tackle, closed their doors this year, L& H woods and Water closed their doors. Grizz sold. West Creek Kayak and Canoe closing the doors. Why, can't compete with Dicks . Walmart, TSC. So go on line to buy your license, go to Cabelas, Bass Pro, and the rest. Where you going to buy your minnows, who is going to Support your community, the big box stores don't.

I ended up going to Dicks in Wayne today, took me 45min. Girl handed me the code book and asked me to look up what she needed to enter. Crazy.. Next year I'll do it online like everyone suggested. It should take minutes to print a licenses, like 10min, not 45min. East Hanover Dicks said there system is still down due to there phone lines. I call BS.
