Just saw it on NJ news they didnt meet there kill quota so an extension may happen

N.J picked the worswt week for a bear hunt.my cameras went down to nothin but this.

thanks! you should see the size of the 5 racoons eating off the bait since the bears went hibernated. they look like a group of walking Manattees.all i can say is between the cubs i have on camera and the ones that i know didnt get taken next year will be overrun with bears.being the storm we had on the opener and warm weather in bear archery this year they should run the season for 2 weeks in October as long as they shut it down when the quotta happens anyway. give us more time.when you travel over an hour and put money and effort in would be nice to have extra time.

this year hunting i encountered more out of state hunters and barrels chained to trees than ever. feeding them that way with a stuffed 55 gal drum of donuts just maked them come in at the midnight boofet.they gorge on those heavy breads and donuts then you done see then for days. i use walmart shoppin bag size mixed of popcorn and dry dog food.keeps them from not filling up! and fits 2 or 3 in my backpack for the 5 mile walk round trip. but in my area this year too much things for them to eat and not have to come back for days.

I am not even hunting bears and last 2 times out hunting. I have seen bears , so they are not all hibernating .

its nice you saw bears. sorry but i love the guys imply on here that play up like theres eaasy hunting bears galore or sumthing. if you have a good private spot and bait deer your probably just bumpin the same couple bears. it doeswnt make it easy to go get them just sayin. i know the die hard deer guys want them all gone but hunting bears aint like fish n the barrel either.

The bears are not hibernating. My group of 4 guys shot one of the 4 bears harvested yesterday.
Have to go out and push the thick stuff the bears are in there. Also need a group of guys you trust. Bear tracks all over the snow. They are moving at night, resting during the day.
Have to put on drives.....bait not going to work this time of year....Good luck and be safe to all.......

4 bears in a day isint gonna reach harvest goals.they arent hibernating per say but in a torpor state. if your driving them they are holed up or ground nested and you kick em up in your drives.if your baiting then youll be tough hunting. i wonder what the final count is.

well season is over. what i dont undersdtand is how one political person can end a season. are you telling me that if a Govenor wanted they could stop squirrel season if they wanted? just wondering how haulting a bear hunting season can even happen. whos gonna get hurt or killed next. very irressponsible.
