AR-10 and not a lot of money don't go well together. Just a stripped upper and lower will run you $6-800 alone depending on manufacturer. It's also a bit tricky because not everything is compatible like the AR15 platform. The real true AR-10 which is manufactured by Armalite carries the true AR10 name. Everything else is technically considered a .308 variant which differs by manufacturer and like I said what fits Armalite doesn't fit DPMS for example. I have an Armalite AR10 I'm not an expert like Stevo would be but I can surely help you out. PM me your cell if you want and we can talk or text.

I was looking at them also. DPMS makes the Lite Hunter, Compact Hunter, and some others, for pretty cheap, compared to others. Ruger makes the SR 762 that looks nice for about 1700. Colt makes one that you can convert to a 223 pretty easily.

Do yourself a favor don't buy a DPMS they are just badly built rifles and you will have nothing but problems especially with a .308 platform. You want a true Mil-Spec built rifle trust me it matters and makes a huge difference.

I've had my eye on the DPMS G2 Hunter with the 20 inch barrel. Looks Jersey compliant out of the box. As a lefty, I like the ambi controls. Other than a couple bad apples that DPMS rectified, it's gotten mostly favorable reviews from what I've seen. I just can't find any available for sale online so I called DPMS and I believe they've scheduled a production run of this rifle for the end of Q2 2017.

I have also seen a lot of good reviews.

Fellas I have no horse in this race and if you have a DPMS and have had good luck with it I'm happy for you. Just ask yourself what type of stress have you actually put the rifle under. DPMS is know for having very poor quality control and letting things out of the factory that shouldn't have been sent. Their BCG's are known to fail, improperly staked has keys are a common problem. The barrels are made from inferior steel and are not chrome lined along with the chambers for that matter. Nothing about them is up to mil-spec standards. The list goes on. If you are a going to be shooting paper and not staking your life on it sure it will probably serve you fine but I absolutely wouldn't use one for duty purposes or if you plan on relying on it for SHTF type purposes. My point here for what you would spend on a DPMS for a little bit more you can get yourself a much better quality rifle. PSA, Spikes, Anderson etc are all better choices and in roughly the same price category. Do your own research just because your buddy has a DPMS and hasn't had any issues doesn't necessarily make it the right rifle for you.

Bought mine at Guns and Roses in Toms river. Lifetime warranty period. I agree I have not sent 1,000 rounds down the tube on mine but probably 600 or so. I guess it depends on how much you shoot?
At the cost of .308 ammo most guys will not shoot 5,000 rounds in a lifetime
