On Saturday I was contacted by countless friends of mine who had seen my picture on Facebook and this site. Unfortunately the information that was posted about me was false, slanderous and grossly inaccurate. Every hunter who's had to deal with trespassers knows how frustrating it is. Anyone who really knows me is well aware that I have been hunting the same private property piece for nearly 17 plus years. To say I am familiar with the property is an understatement. My knowledge of the property has also come by way of tax maps which I still have to this day. About four years ago I discovered a stand on the property. Not wanting to have any confrontation, I reported this to Fish and Game, more specifically, Warden Todd Vazquez. Fortunately through my description of the stand and specific markings, he knew who owned the stand and ultimately took care of the problem. Well fast forward to a little after deer season, like any good hunter would do, I decided to check the immediate area of my stand locations. I would be remiss if I didn't mention I had a gentlemen driving his truck up to and around my pile, whom I captured on camera. So this explains why I had a saw in my hand. I had cut down a few trees to block any further attempts by this man to disrupt my pile. Now back to checking the immediate area. While checking I come across a camera and tree stand. This camera was a browning camera and was facing the pile. Yes, I did see the camera and it did not phase me because I am on private property and I have another trespasser. I initially was going to take the camera and stand and report it to Warden Vazquez, however I opted not too and phoned him immediately, advising him of the trespassing complaint. He suggested we attempt to catch the trespasser in the stand. He confirmed the location and that it was in fact private property and made several attempts to catch the trespasser which was unsuccessful. I then said I would remove the stand and hope that the stand owner would contact Fish and Game. Well, I should note that I had to cut the tree down to remove the stand which I wasn't happy about, however what do you know, the stand is the same stand with the same markings as the one from four years ago. Warden Vazquez interviewed this subject who denied any wrong doing. All of this information can be verified with the Warden and I encourage any nay sayers to do so. I do not cut trees down on public land nor do I steal stands. I was unfairly portrayed on social media and attacked ignorantly by the multitude of individuals who were falsely informed of this situation. The original person who posted this had removed my pictures from his Facebook and offered an apology after hearing the facts. I commend this man for his integrity, however did not appreciate my integrity being misrepresented. Because this is an on going investigation I did not mention the stand owner or any other information which would misrepresent facts.
