Congrats to you and your son MB! That is a slamer. Make sure he gets the coveted 200# patch! Congrats again.
Thank you! He is really excited about getting the patch. When Kevin went to school on Monday he printed out his Big Buck PATCH paperwork during his study period, lol.
In addition to the 200# club patch he will also be receiving The Maine Antler and Skull Trophy Club(MASTC) patch for his antler score. He will be entered in their book and will be a permanent entry due to his antlers being above a certain score. I spoke with the director on Friday and he invited us to 2015 & 2016 awards banquet in April at the civic center in Augusta. My taxidermist said he will get the head done in a couple months so Kevin can bring it to the banquet to display it in April. As of right now, fingers crossed, the buck more than likely will be the largest taken by a youth hunter this year and finish in the top 10(score) for 2016.
My parents were at the Governor's Restaurant in Ellsworth Saturday night for dinner and they overheard a waitress talking to some customers about a 12 year old boy from Jersey who killed a big buck last week. My dad stopped her when she came by to tell her that it was his Grandson that shot the deer. Two of the patrons actually came over and had dinner with my parents and talked deer hunting for over an hour. One thing about those Mainers, they do like to talk hunting!
My dad is prouder than a peacock over Kevin getting this buck, probably the most I've ever seen him over anything, lol.
