That's nothing Princeton pays $100s of thousands to remove there deer every year with the white buffalo.plus they do Ubnj , dr lands trust and all the private land hunters. Princeton is trying to remove all deer from there town

And some people still wonder why our country is so financially screwed up. [confused]
Just wait until they start a contraception program, which is more expensive, extremely inefficient, and documented proven to (eventually) fail. Because the reality is, liberals dont learn. They steadfastly hold tight to their ideology, even when it's so succinctly proven to be wrong.

Question... "with so many hunters claiming they can do the job for nothing, why is it the crème de la crème of New Jersey bow hunters, hand picked, almost semi-pro bowman of UBNJ, the premier bow hunting organization in this state; can't get the job done at Princeton? Just wondering.

They are trying to eleminate all the deer. The management hunts kill a at least 200 deer a year and the white buffalo shoot at at least 200 also. Then the the private land hunters kill a bunch also. Probably 500 deer are killed in just Princeton every year. Everyone does there part to try to remove as many deer as possible.

The management ... hunt killed something like less than 20 deer last year, not 200. Roughly the same as every year for the last decade. White Buffalo then goes in after the 5 months it takes the "free" hunters to kill 20 deer. This is why I have to laugh whenever I read the uproar made by bow hunters over culls by Wildlife Services or WBI. They make claims, about how great they are, but don't deliver.

That is because they cull the one required doe and then hang out for a good buck. Cull that and quit. I used to help with doe management in a few places. It is a lot of work most guys have no stones for.

there is know way only 20 deer are kill by the management hunters. Most programs require that each person shoots at least 3 deer a year or you are out of the program and there are a lot of guys in the hunt programs. Hopewell open space took over hunting on one of the properties I used to hunt and they already shot 11 deer off the 15 arcre wood lot.

I'm telling you ... and it's a fact. More deer get killed by cars in Princeton than get killed by the DMP. I was in that program years back.

As for Hopewell's programs, they kill a pile of deer there every year because they can't bring the density down. There "IS" a pile of new deer every season to kill... LOL No disrespect to their program, Princeton's program, UBNJ, or the dedicated DMP participants. There are a complex myriad of elements in deer management. When you see huge kill numbers year after year, the program isn't reaching it's goals. When you DO get the densities down, you have to put in a lot of man hours to kill one deer. A successful, mature DMP takes hard core, dedicated, skilled participants. As X7 succinctly pointed out "It is a lot of work most guys have no stones for." As the old saying goes "Everybody wants to be a cowboy ... but nobody wants to ride the range." ...LOL

While similar to hunting in many ways, many facets of culling deer are different. The "How to kill one deer" rules are not paramount anymore. How to kill the FINAL deer in the program goal number is the main objective. It's hunting on a new level and the skills are very difficult to acquire because so few people HAVE those skills to pass on, teach or share. An outfit like Wildlife Services accumulated those skills by decades of experience and networking with other nuisance wildlife professionals. Who is Billy Bob networking with???...LOL Most likely with just another disgruntle hunter. <smile>

As long as they dont shoot Pickles. The deer that moves sideways when he poops. He has a facebook page and everything! I have seen several home videos of him. [eyeroll]
