Last year we went by and I had to pull the truck over. Saw 4 bucks on the East side (Oceanport) 2 were easily 130+

Makes no sense in a state with such a lack of public hunting opportunities. They are looking to cull over 100 deer...

They usually don't cull the bucks...
They estimate 40 lbs of venison will be donated to the local homeless shelters. At $40,000 for 40 lbs of meat, Im no mathematician, but my figuring on the ol abacus has it somewhere near $1,000 per lb of venison!!!! WTF!!! Im in the wrong business!! And it kinda sounds like the smackers that landed the contract are profiting from the sale of wild game, which last I heard was frowned upon!!

Come on guys, who would take the time to get paid $320 dollars to shoot some stupid deer. heck if you shoot 10 a night that's only $3200.00 what would you do whit that chump change?

Jeez you guys are so quick to jump to conclusions you don't read the damn article! The USDA (Dept. of Agriculture) has a wildlife control office, they are conducting the cull.
And it's 40# of meat PER DEER! C'mon guys, get the facts straight before you start the bashing! LOL

40 pound per deer X 125 deer = 5000 pounds $40000/5000 pounds =8 dollars a pound...
Lol. Thanks for clearing it up a bit! Still $8/lb is the absurd federal contract price. And the main whistleblow is for not using free local, tax paying, dedicated sportsman and women to help with the cull!! Damn this stuff gets me so torqued I couldn't even read it correctly!!

It's a ... "service" and you must pay them for it. They are in direct competition with the private sector, so they are not "supposed" to have an unfair advantage. Of course they do. Particularly when dealing with governing bodies.

40k to jack a bunch of deer at night,they can probably do that in less than a week
These no load potted plants at DEP for once accurately predict a cultural carrying capacity issue with regard to human/deer conflict, and they have no balls or power to give tax paying state citizens the opportunity to hunt. I wish I had $40,000 to blow on such a simple problem! Bunch of puke guzzlin can't cunts!!
