Isn't that the truth...the OP asks a simple, honest question for an opinion about where guys would concentrate their scouting and hunting efforts based on the topo and satellite images of the area in question and what he gets is guys telling him that they know where that spot is and how quickly they figured it out, naming specific roads that lead to and from the area, how good the hunting in the area used to be, yada, yada, yada...aside from a handful of guys that actually answered the question. Fellow "sportsman" and "hunters" my arse!
Hey! To be fair I told him I knew where it was but didn't reveal it on the public forum [ko]

the fat and lazy people on the internet are not even gonna go hunting let alone walk up this mountain.
This is the reality anyway. Guys can talk all day long about that spot-I'm guessing just looking at the contour lines on that topo gives a lot of them heart palpitations [hihi]

It's big woods with steep hills, lots of bears, and few deer. You won't have much competition if you get up in there a bit.

The most enjoyable way to hunt that area is to wait for a fresh snow fall during muzzle loader. Pack a lunch and spend the day still hunting. I've taken some venison out of there that way. [up][up]

Ive been hearing from a bunch of guys that they think deer populations been dropping in areas with bears and bear populations have been increasing in more areas etc. You think there is any truth to that or expanding coywolves throughout the state? I can see because of the coywolves hitting deer and fawns especially but bears too?!?!?!

Yes....bears kill fawns as well as adult deer given the opportunity

Penn State studied this and found that bears have just as big an impact on fawn recruitment as coyotes.

Hmmmmmm not good. Shooting a coywolf is one thing, a bear is a whole different level of headache. Last year I saw a fair amount of coywolves on the Bergen/Passaic border while up in stands and that was the first year that I saw them regularly like that. I know they have been in the area for a while but seems like their numbers really increased recently. But bears wont help the situation either. Ugh.
