Quick question , a friend who lives upstate wants one of my old side by sides . Lives north of Albany , is there any paper work besides the nj transfer paper I should do ?
Thanks guyThis isn't rocket science. Interstate sales of firearms between non-licensees require a transfer through an FFL. You can ship it to his new York FFL (once you get a copy of that FFL) and then your friend can legally acquire it from that NY FFL.
Be very careful of legal advice received from the internet. It is not considered admissible in criminal trials! [wallmad]

Very bad advice... most especially on a public forum! If it's an old shotgun, it likely has no paper trail & could be sold to a trusted, sane friend with very little risk of any problem down the road but I would never suggest breaking the law....
Can he transfer it at a NJ based FFL or does the transfer need to occur in NY?
