I went to Meltzer's this afternoon to get two items. I wanted a box of 3-1/2" Winchester's #5 Extended Range Turkey loads, and a Tru-Glo sight for my 835. So the guy says "I only have 3" in those shells" "No problem, I can wait and I'll be back for them", he said "Listen we won't be getting anymore f**king ammo what you see is what we have!!!!" I asked about the Tru-Glo sight, he replies "No we don't sell that shit, goto Cabelas for crap like that !!!" I didn't say a word, I was so surprised at what was said to me and the tone of voice, I found myself walking out the door, I was going to go back and say my peace, but screw it, best thing to do is to do what he said, give another store my money

I have similar problems at the Ramsey and Paramus Ramsey stores, not Ledgewood I like those guys. In the bergen county stores they treat me like some kind of hick with no cash. I have walked out of there pissed with a wad of cash in my pocket ready to buy expensive guns several times. Now i only go in there to ask stupid questions and not buy anything. They have that piss poor attitude also. One time I changed my hat to a Cabelas hat just before entering the store just to piss them off more.

I've been going to Meltzer's for about as long as I was old enough to hold a fishing pole, I never in all my years there ever had any problem with anyone in there [confused]
Billy is always walking around and ever time I walk in the door he comes over and says hello and asks me how I'm doing, and on the way out he always says thanks for your Business.
I'm telling you this much if you would have gone to Billy he would have straightened him out in a second.

I also have been going to Meltzer's since I was 10 years old. I knew the Father, Izzy and now the son Billy, I'm also friendly with several of the guys in the store. I've always and this is 37 years of ALWAYS been treated with respect! I know how you feel, I've been to 3 sporting good stores that I will never set foot in again, because of the attitudes of the owners! I would approach Billy and tell them your beef, if the guys'a smacka$$, then I'm sure if he's bad for the business, then Billy would want to know! Meltzer's for a long time has been a ardent supporter of UBNJ, the Bergen Bowmen , the Federation, and I'm sure other local clubs. Don't hurt the business, take care of the problem!
