Who is planning to go to the spring traditional shoot at Whittingham, April 27-29. It's a great shoot and a great opportunity to bring a nonhunter out for some fun in the woods.

Anyone interested in bringing a kid or extra equipment to mentor a kid for a day?? If we could put some people with extra equipment together with someone that wants to learn to shoot traditional equipment it could make for a good day.

I would help mentor a kid shooting. I love doing stuff like that. Its why I volunteer to do NASP and Pequest open houses, etc. Its great to get the kids involved.

Only thing is, Im not sure they'd want me teaching someone how to shoot a recurve![rofl] I'm decent, but my style is, how shall I put this, very "unique"!:D

Deadbolt,870,

I can probably help out with an extra bow for a newbe to carry around for a day.

Deadbolt what is your compound bow set at pound wise and draw length?

Thanks 870 but before we go pinning anything on my chest or putting any "Gold Stars" on my forehead for the day I want to make sure I have something that will fit him!

With a name like "Dead Bolt" I'm a little intimidated so he will not be carring around any $700-$1000 Fedoras or Dale Dyes but I WILL get something together for him!
The catch will probably be in the arrow department but like I'm always telling my boss "Its probably nothing TIME and MONEY can't fix if we THROW enough of each at the problem"!:)

My newbees will be shooting 35 lb. fibergl [no swearing please] Ben Pearson bows.[hihi][hihi]
Of course they are only 10-12 years old. By the way, if you see a frazzled looking couple surrounded by a bunch of crazy kids, that will be my wife and I.[ko][ko]

Hey! Frazzled is a very valid lifestyle if you were to ask me. :)

Sorry boys been working like a DOG!

I currently shoot a mathews 27in 70# but am contimplanting backing it town a turn or two to save the shoulder.

I have a ton of CX 200s cut to size for my bow not sure if that helps...dont know the length you need for them stick thingers :p

I have never shot a traditional bow or shot with fingers in my life so I may need some lessons. I have always used a release...:(

check out 3Rivers Archery for weighted incerts, heavyer point weight ( just incase ) and use Adcock's website to tune your set-up. IMOA, Only You can tune your own bow & arrow set-up. Others can only give you a hand. Take your time in doing this, might seem like lots of work now but come next huntiong season YOu'll be Happy you did take your time.

POst all question on here. As Others on here will help you out or you can go to TradGang DoT cOm( that is a all Taditional Archers Website. You can find lots more help there...
