first thing this morning I loaded up my truck for a trip that was called off so I went hunting instead now I just got a bug up my as* to go trout fishing so I loaded up my car W/my waders and stream vest but I couldnt find my rod, after a couple minutes I see it next to my safe as I pick it up I notice it is now a 2 piece rod ,my wader hanger fell off the wall and broke my g loomis in 2.now I have a back up rod but I am afraid to use it today in fear of breaking it also.does anyone have any expieriance w/ g loomis warranty ,I hope to send it back and see if it can be repaired I paid way to much $$ to just throw it away.never in my life have I been so careless w/ a fishing rod.man I had some great times w/ that rod and have caught thousands of trout on it what a sad day

That is a bad day, no doubt about it[cry]

It may be able to be repaired, but they might offer a replacement at a considerable discount if it can not be repaired. My friend Mike had his broken when he tripped and fell, breaking it in two. He contacted G-Loomis and that was what they told him.

I think it was 60$, GLoomis sent me a new rod within days and I sent back the old on in the prepaid shipping tube
thanks after asking around that is what I hear ,60 bucks is a great deal I was about to go spend anouther 200 or more on a new rod

The one thing I wasnt happy with was the dealer I got my loomis from wouldnt even warranty it and he had like 10 of the same rod in stock. Still had wait for the rod from the manufacturer. What's the difference to them, Why won't loomis work with their vendors better? That put me out of commision right before heading up north for a trip. I wound up buying a new rod for my trip. I wasnt to thrilled with that, especially after paying $600. for just the rod.

But on the bright side, they were fairly quick with sending out a new one and they paid the shipping to me and to send the broken one back.

I dont mind waiting ,I just dont want to deal w/ any b.s. from them other wise I will be very upset.I have there stickers all over my truck and house plus all the shirts I own and I have there logo tattooed on my arm ,I am a walking advertisment for them

They are very good with the expeditor warrantee. You could have had it shipped to where you were staying. It's usually 2 days shipping to get there with an overnight option I think. I agree that the dealers should be able to give the warrantee out too, but there's probably too much other BS that would be involved. I think it's fine to deal with them direct.

That sucks[down][down][down]. When you plunk down the money for a G. Loomis you expect to be purchasing extraordinary service as well. I have returned 3 Lamigl [no swearing please] Inshore Classic rods that I snapped while setting hooks overaggressively and they have been replaced with in stock rods with no questions asked. I recently broke another one during my trip to Costa Rica and need to exchange that one as well. I've learned that the rods suck, but at least they stand by their product[hihi]

if you ever get a chance pick up a lamigl [no swearing please] and flex it all you hear is cracking. I went to buy one a couple months ago and didnt like the noise it made

What's up with the Lamis? Never fished one, but hear nothing but great things about them...how you breaking so many?
It's the most bizarre thing. I snapped two at the Shrewsbury Rocks fluking, one in Florida fishing the reefs and one in Costa Rica on the reefs as well. The rods were all 8-17 lb, I think. I obviously torqued them pretty good but not to the extent that I would expect them to break! I also had super braid on each of them so there was obviously no give there. The reason I keep replacing them is that I went out and purchased a bunch of them to match up with my Avets and now I don't want a bunch of mix matched stuff. I love the sensitivity of the things but they just don't hold up.
