I dont find Florida as "buggy" as people think it is. Especially when the temps are high and the sun's blazing down.I would imagine that deer hunting in Florida requires being on an IV drip of Permethrin [ko]
I'm just inherently biased against places that don't have seasons or snow and are inhumanly hot and humid most of the time. When the time comes to leave NJ I'll be headed north, not south.I dont find Florida as "buggy" as people think it is. Especially when the temps are high and the sun's blazing down.
Nope Nope Nope Nope Nope...Almost forgot.....walking out to your spot in the dark is a giant NO! they have these F'n huge Banana Spiders that make giant man sized webs tree to tree across the deer trails....Darn things are monsters.....Your day goes to sh!t when you are walking in to your spot in the dark and walk into one of those....you are covered head to toe in web doing your best impression of the kung fu fighter and have a spider that size and feel of a furry rat crawling on your face......VERY BAD JU JU! State land is great for gun hunting as the north involves a lot of paper mill property that is leased to the state and they clear cut 5 to 10 acre lots.....plenty of fresh growth and you can set up on an edge with the rifle and get a solid shot....But bow season is a hot, muggy, and mosquito infested special kind of hell....its where die hard bow hunters who've sinned get sent when they die....God spoketh and said unto him "there is no Heaven, but only Hell for you....you are sentenced to bow hunt deer in Florida for all eternity!"
That's true the snakes eat most of the bugs.I dont find Florida as "buggy" as people think it is. Especially when the temps are high and the sun's blazing down.
One time I was at the Lake Woodruff National Wildlife Refuge (central Florida) and my eyes were on the ground looking to collect snakes as I'm walking along a trail. Something glistened in the sun out of the corner of my eye, and I stopped and realized it was a spider web. When I looked up, the spider was centered perfectly "head high" and about 12 to 15 inches in front of my face. Their webs look like something out of a SpiderMan movie. This one was probably about 6 feet wide (entire trail) and maybe 8 feet tall.walking out to your spot in the dark is a giant NO! they have these F'n huge Banana Spiders that make giant man sized webs tree to tree across the deer trails....Darn things are monsters.....
