Went out prepared for snow, wind and cold. Was actually a nice morning until about 12 when it started snowing and blowing a little. By that time we were about done. Son and I caught about 30 trout, all average size, except one about 18 inches. All on power bait. Kept 12 for two dinners. Great morning.[up]

My guess is that your son caught 28 or 29 of those trout. Congrats, great day![up]

30 trout on powerBait and not a hit on a spinner! Just goes to show that you can't go with only one trick in your bag.

There was a guy next to us not catching anything. He was a friendly kid, about 20. I felt bad that we were catching so many so I walked over and asked if I could see his line. He had heavy braided line atached to a snap swivel probably strong enough for a Musky. Snapped into that huge swivel was a size 2 long shanked hook, with a hunk of power bait.[eek] I took his hook off and tied 18 inchs of 4# fluro and a size 12 hook and he caught some fish. Made my day.[up]

i agree. At KLG at the bend pool a couple of weeks ago I found a 10-12 year old kid catching Jack Squat with a rubber worm. I gave him an Aglia Brite spinner and he was getting follows left and right. He eventually caught a small rainbow which I helped him release he was thrilled saying he usually fished in the sea and that this was his first trout. Made my week, let alone day!
