I can't remember if I clicked email or post card notification. ...would I be emailed if I didn't receive a permit?
Just log into the system, and select the option that says "check on status of lottery applications" - you'll know if/what you got awarded. You don't have to wait for the email or postcard (I still didn't get my email, though I thought for sure I selected that option- but logging on you can find out what you got).

I know the Division is in dire straights financially, but we r in for a real shit show if they jus gave out permits above quota to make more money!!
The Division is not in dire financial straights. Not sure where you got that from. At yesterday's trout stocking meeting, assistant Director Larry Herighty discussed with the audience how some of the federal conservation dollars we sportsmen pay in taxes when we buy guns, fishing gear, etc. is going to be sent back to the states' fish and wildlife agencies not by the # of licenses sold, but rather by population density. That would be huge for states like NJ where, he explained, we could see up to 4 times the amount of federal grant funds come in compared to what has happened in the past. That would be huge, especially since we have a free saltwater license which has hurt us in the recent past.

On the turkey permit front, I didn't bother because my zone has never once sold out, so I know I can just buy them over the counter.

BucksnBows, that would be great news if indeed our state would be granted revenue because the division is in need of money. What would make it fabulous is if New Jersey was given those fund's and the said monies as drawn up in legislation written in 1937 the Pittman-Robertson Act . The purpose of the P-R Act was to provide funds to the state's for wildlife conservation as you know. And if our politicians could follow their own legislation and we were authorized the money, the funds should be solely for the use by the division as opposed to being up for grabs by other government agencies, for reasons that aren't pertaining to the restoration of wildlife habitat and conservation purposes. In the recent past approximately 12-15 years an employee of the State retired, prior to retirement the funds from the Pittman-Robertson excise tax were appropriately labeled and issued to fish and wildlife. From what I gather now appropriations intended for the division are not all making it to the intended agency. But then again this is New Jersey who's surprised by this.

Oh yeah, yes I was too awarded both of my first pick lotteries!... Sorry for the banter and going off topic.

Yeah that was kind of a bonehead comment on my part, I plead partial insanity, it was 12am.

Its an F'd up system, I see a lot of guys who put it for multiple permits and got them, I didn't get either one I applied for. I got my second choice in my one app. and didn't even get my second choice in my second lottery. Thankfully my son got what I put in for him.
What zone did you apply for?
