I'm half-way through a bottle of jack so this crazy drunken thought occurred to me: why not parlay my stockpile of ammo into opportunities to metal detect. My summer hobby is coin hunting. I take it kinda seriously, meaning no one can ever see evidence of any of the holes I dig. Looks like no one was ever there. I don't sell any of the coins I find...just think it's kinda cool to hold history. This may be the stupidest idea in the world and i'll get no responses (or responses saying how stupid an idea it is). But if free ammo sounds good to you, PM me your location. I'll drop the ammo in your mailbox or something.

Have lots of 20 packs of 5.56, boxes of 7/8-shot target or game loads, and 5-packs of home defense buck shot loads. 1 box is the deal, but if I find any coin older than 1900 i'll double the prize.

Anywhere in northern or NW jersey. Preferably older houses :). I'll let you know what i found...and if I find anything that you lost or lost family stuff it's yours.

i gotta ask... what is the best coin that you have found so far? could be the coolest or most valuable- being a coin collector myself, i'm just curious. Since we are in n.j have you found any jersey coppers from the late 1700's?
May oldest is a 1723 king George 1 1/2 penny.

very nice, like you said before, just the history alone makes it fun. i have a one cent piece minted in phila. the same year that george washington left office and i like to think that one of the founding fathers may have held it at some point!
good luck treasure hunting - keep us posted.

I found a 1900 barber half last summer. It was pretty beat but still nice to find.
