ranchers,angry and tired of the government,for various reasons,took over a federal building and was joined by various militia groups.more and more groups are joining them as this continues,bringing in food,generators,arms and ammo and general supplies.people are getting fed up and i don't blame them at all,but i'm not sure this is the way to handle it.this is gonna get real ugly,real fast.it will only take one itchy trigger finger and all hell is gonna break loose.anyone else following this story?

Government overreach? This whole thing is about Bundy and his armed mob believing that the federal government doesn't have the authority to own land. To own land! Are you really against the National Park System And the National Wildlife Refuge System? They are two national treasures, established with strong support from sportsmen. Teddy Roosevelt established the refuge that these criminals are occupying. Id like to see what old Teddy would have done to them.

Oligarchy would be much more accurate than a democratic republic. You do realize that every aspect of your life is regulated by the federal government. Your car, your house, youdr light bulbs, your appliances, hell... even your toilet bowl. Founding fathers gave all the power to the states, with very specific guidelines to limit federal over reach. The country these men sought to establish, is not the country we live in today. Read any of the laws or proclamations written by any of these men, and what you will not find is open ended language. Such as to be determined, an excessive amount, etc... I understand you are a far left liberal, but even you have to admit we do NOT live in a democratic republic. One only need to look at Obamacare to realize that. Wake up...

You're correct. They would like to continue grazing the land their family has grazed cattle on for generations. Once the government steps in and says, "uh this is ours now" it leaves families with cattle they cant feed. Wonder how some would react to Obama literally taking food out of your kids mouth?? Also common is ranchers scorching these lands for new growth for the cattle, which is what these ranchers were doing. Its a tragedy what happened to these men, and many other ranchers like them. Certainly wouldn't want to be in their shoes. But hey, let's look on the bright side. Canadian and Mexican ranchers are gonna be selling a lot more beef, and pulling a lot of money out of the country...

If the land were to be given to the state .... then it would be the state charging the grazing fees and making certain that the land isn't destroyed by over grazing.
Then they should have bought more land for themselves when the times were good. The land is now a Wildlife Refuge, something that hunters' had contributed to acquiring and maintaining. These ranchers would like nothing more than to burn it all and turn it into a giant cattle pasture.
