Biggest I've ever trapped was 69 1/2 lbs on the button few 68 lbers biggest I've ever seen in person was 78 lbs at the fur buyer upstate guy came in with four beaver that were all over 65lbs and sold in the carcass mine was tough enough to get out of the woods

I know. Its bad enough carrying out a 45 pounder when you dont have a pack basket. Or your pack baskets full of other stuff.
Today I got a 48#er and a red fox. No basket. Had to carry them plus a 20+# back pack, chipping bar and a 330 over 200 yds through some over grown thick stuff. Pain in my as$....well my arms
 
Doesn't anyone rough skin their beaver in the field if they are too far from the road? I have done it enough times. It takes the same amount of time to do it in the field as it does back home. Put it up on a blow-down or a large rock and its childs play. Just bring a plastic bag, two knives, laytex gloves, and a few paper towels.
