Bobcats making their way South

Cats are EVERYWHERE. Unfortunetly the cat issue will be just as bad if not worse then the coyote issue by the time they go through the process of removing them from this list , adding them to that list, do a study ya da ya da ya da. We have a population RIGHT NOW that they can give out permits like the otter or beaver to control them a bit. I have stopped trapping 75% of my farms because of them being LOADED with cats. Last year predator calling I called in more bobcats then fox or coyote. Neat animal, really like them but just like anything else they need to be controlled. It's set up right now to allow them to spread to dangerously high numbers before the state will do anything and let us catch a few. I feel like this state likes to wait till we have a real big problem before they act on it. Ah such is life .

This would be a good question to ask, "Did you ever see a bobcat in NJ and if so, where?" I see reports of them getting caught in snares and a trailcam pic now and then, but I rarely hear of sightings to the extent that they are EVERYWHERE.

About 15 years ago I had a Bobcat attack my turkey decoy while hunting at Worthington state park. Have had them sneaking up on my dekes while turkey hunting in Wayne county pa several times. Cool animal to watch but they do a number on turkeys, fawns and all our small game up there.

Where I live Warren county I see them pretty much on a daily basis. The only reason I haven't had a problem with them at the house is because of the kennel. I don't think one would want to get in the mix with my dogs. It seemed like they had big litters this year.

My buddy had one walk right under his stand during 6 day. He was in Allamuchy when it happened.
