Leave a note saying you want to work with them. Ask for their phone number, then turn them in for hunter harassment, because that is what this is!

Not even remotely close to harassment...
The answer is up to you. If other guys hunt there they may even use your stand when you aint there, if they left you a note they know when you are there anyway

Dude... I've been in the same situation on Public Land a few times. Most time I stay put and stand fast.( Especially if I was there first),or a good Buck is sniffing around.) But, like others have said on your post...basically you May not be hunting now, your just holding a spot, and watching your back around possible lunatics. Yeah maybe you'll shot a deer. But these jerk wads may create a very poopy situation around the area, and stink it up and pinch your space. Its 50/50 . Many times A-Holes like that are just testing the water with you and feeling you out ,trying to spook you. But on the other hand I've seen things go south before with cracked windshields and flat tires. So be wise . If you stay...In which you Have Every F-N Right to, I would write down the plate numbers of their vehicles if you can. You may need it later. Any verbal crap they hand you in the woods or an encounter at your vehicle report to Fish and Game right away. Give the Conservation Officers a really important and meaningful task for once. Good Luck ...[smoke]

Just move along. If there are guys hunting that close to you I don't know why you would want to hunt there still. I'm not sure what all the comments flexing don't move is gonna do for you. You'll all just be screwing each other up. Your not conceding by moving, your doing the smart thing. Nothing worse than sitting all day somewhere just to have some yut yut come in an hour before dark and walk right by you.

Kindly leave them a not that says... "Let's see who shoots first" haha. It's fine, it is state land... I've seen stands in the same spot for years and never seen anyone hunt then. Pleople just throw up stands and think they claim a spot for themselves. As long as you aren't on top of them it's all good

If they left a contact number, contact them. I wouldn't move but if you don't move just keep in mind they know where your stand is now and it may go missing. It's public land though so stand your ground

Ultimately the decision is yours. If you move then they win and will do the same to the next guy and so on. As I stated earlier stay put. But that also depends on what you want deal with.

If you stay have fish and games number on speed dial

At this point it is not harassment, but the second they touch his stand or mess with his area, it is. This is usually the first step before that crap happens.

Take your stand down and take it home...Be sure to be in the woods extra early and hunt his stand! Ant stand left on state land after sunset is illegal anyway...hunt away

Honestly I'm flabbergasted by this thread. For all the "hunters banding together" speak that goes on around here, it's truly these threads where the real colors come out. Turning in another hunter for harassment couldn't be any further from the correct solution to the problem. The fact that the guy left a note I think is actually a move in the right direction for public land usage. The fact that he asked you to move rather than to discuss the situation however is less than ideal. Personally, I would not move but I would try to speak to the guy. You may decide that you never hunt the same schedules or may decide that too many hunters in the area leaves too much scent. Either way he's got no right to ask you to move but you might be able to work out a better solution for the both of you by just discussing. Hell maybe in the end you guys will even help each other out (God forbid that happens :EvilBeGone:).

I few years back I had a problem with a guy in an area I was hunting. One afternoon he driving up and down the road all afternoon. Then about 6:00 pm he came looking for me and it turned into a shouting match. I knew what his intentions were. So I called f&w and pushed for Hunter harassment. Basically I was told it was my word against his. There were no other wittnesses.

My point is guys throw Hunter harassment around a lot but you have to prove it. In a case of vandalism or theft you need proof. A witness, pictures or something. Or in my case with verbal harassment you need to be able to prove intent. In other words that was his intentions when he went in the woods
