I'm not sure which section this belongs in but I hope this is right. I just wanted to say a quick thank you. Several of you have contacted me in the past couple of weeks before you cleaned out your freezers or threw out freezer-burned meat, or youve passed my contact info along to others, and I really appreciate your keeping the puppy (well, 145 lb, 2 yr old puppy) and me in mind. He had half a chop this morning and thought he had died and gone to heaven! lol.

Anyway, if anyone is throwing meat out in preparation for the season, please don't toss it in the trash if you're in the central Jersey area! (We're near Summit). No need to waste usable food, the dog's not particular. :)

If you have that much meat that went bad then you need to wrap it better or shoot less deer. I have meat from last year that looks the same as when I wrapped it. Plastic wrap and freezer paper will get you two yrs. Nice offer though a least you didn't chuck it in the dumpster

That's got to be one of the best lines. If you have THAT much meat you need to shoot less deer. I myself like sweating around the end of June that I will have enough in the freezer to make opening day. Squeezed by this year with 1 steak.

I lost count jk it was at the exes house apparently her sister and family never took it like they were supposed to and she didn't even realize it was there

That's a reasonable excuse . It the reply was "yea well I never got around to eating it , whatever I'll shoot more". That would be a whole different story. I'm willing to bet there are a lot of guys on here who are stuck in the shooting phase of the cycle and just cannot let a deer walk by. These are the guys with 250 pounds of venison that get shit canned every year before the season opens. I've seen it first hand and I am no longer friends with those individuals.
