As a professional driver of 17yrs, I can tell you those dump truck drivers are a complete hazard to themselves and everyone around them. If I had to guess, it was recklessness on the drivers part. I see it all the time. First off, they are almost always running overweight, maybe 100k-120k lbs on 4 axles. Watch them go down the road. They are always listing right and left, tires squatting, and top heavy. Second, they are almost always speeding. Then to top it off the drivers of those damned trucks all think they are cowboys, couple that with the fact it takes the equivalent of 8,000HP to stop 100klbs moving at 60mph.. It's a terrible combination. I stay away from them as much as I can, even when I'm running 80k lbs on a 73' rig, not just my personal car. Drivers beware.

The only other rigs that scare me more than dump trucks are car carrier's. But that's another story.

We live in NJ there's some things to expect.

1. Traffic
2. High taxes
3. Horrible anti 2nd amendment laws
4. People mistakenly calling Taylor ham pork roll!

you forgot number 5. Calling a sub a hoagie

I moved to NC on Sunday and just got to Brick for my nephew's funeral. I drove 10 hours with the family to help console and support in any way. The driver of the dump truck most likely had family and friends who are in shock, disbelief, and hurting very much right now. Yes, traffic sucks, but mourning and burying a loved one sucks a whole lot worse.
