So I headed over to Walmart tonight at about 10:30pm to get some rabbit food for Daisy,......well when I`m there, I always have to make my way over to the fishin` area. I grabbed the rabbit chow & meandered over that way. As I admired some hooks and such, a spanish fella approached me and in a sort of distraught manner said, "Man..... I`m taking my kids fishing tomorrow and don`t have a clue as to what to get"......."Do you know much about fishing?"------ I grinned and said, "Yea....a little."..... "I could help ya if you`d like" ----- With that he eagerly smiled and said, "I`m from the city and I would really appreciate any help, `cause I am absolutely clueless as to what to get"----he proceeded to say he had three youngsters that were all excited about going fishing tomorrow. I said, "Well...... Let`s start out with some fishin` poles" ---- As I methodically looked for three decent, all-round freshwater set-ups, he started to get really eager & held out his hand to shake and said, "Hey by the way, I`m Omar" ---- "I said, "Nice to meet ya Omar....I`m Ken"----- He told me he lived right on 57 with his family & I asked where he planned on fishin` tomorrow. He said right there in the river. I told him, "Well that`ll work, but I got a much better and easier place to go.....a place where the kids will definitely catch fish....The Mountain Farm/Teetertown Preserve"---- So he stored the address in his phone and was all smiles and said, "Then this is where we`ll be going tomorrow!"--- Then I got some hooks, sinkers & bobbers, went over to the counter, opened up the packages(he was buying them anyway) & proceeded to set up the poles with hooks for him. I put the bobbers on & the showed him how to open the bail & cast...as I made a few casts down the aisle! ha! ha! ...... He had fished before, but I just wanted to make sure he knew how to open & close the bail & cast. Then I went over & picked out two containers of red worms for him...... So we had a few more laughs and I can`t tell ya how appreciative & thankful this fella was. As we shook hands one more time & said good bye, I wished him good luck & handed him one of my cards. I said, "Omar....go home & get on the computer with the kids & watch me catch a couple fish on the Videos on my website"--- Then he shook my hand one more time, smilin` from ear to ear & said, "Wow! We will!"---............. So there ya go.......... Did my "Friday Night Good Deed" ------Have a nice weekend everyone.
